Pickles Posted July 30, 2013 Share Posted July 30, 2013 According to Midi Libre, from Thursday, if you drive your French-registered car in Spain and receive a traffic fine (eg from an automatic radar camera or red light camera), the French system will pass your details to the Spanish system to enable you to be chased for the fine in France. According to the BBC, more efforts are being made to catch speeding foreign-reg cars in France - although the article doesn't really support the headline. Not that anyone is going to be speeding anywhere today, according to the traffic prognosticators. Note that the UK has opted out of cross-border sharing of registered owners of cars, and thus cannot prosecute foreign-registered cars caught in UK automatic radar camera sites.
