Summer holiday jobs

Hi Everyone,

we have a 17yr old son who will shortly be finishing lycee for the summer and wondered if there are any holiday jobs for youngsters as he will be off for nearly 3 months and would like to earn some money for the summer. We are inbetween St Lo and Vire and would like something fairly local, although he has a scooter and is therefore mobile.

My son who is the same age went to the local summer season job fair organised by the anpe, most of the companies there were surprised to see a 17yr old looking for work!  Generally these companies only have insurance to employ 18 yr olds plus;  Dont know if you have a local McDonalds, but they do let 16yrs work there during summer but restricted hours.

Yes. 18 is usually the youngest age anyone like supermarkets,restaurants etc will take students on because of the insurance problems. Here even to work as a cleaner or waitress on BF or IF during the holidays you have to be 21 minimum. Have you tried a local veg producer who may be looking for labour but at restricted hours because of the age.

Any campsites near you? They'll be looking for seasonal workers from about the last week of June until the end of August. Don't know of the age restrictions though.
