New rules for Unemployment Benefit in France

This article (in French) outlines the new agreement.

It will be possible to make a claim after working 4 months instead of 6 at the moment

but  a second claim in the year would require 6 months as at present.

The total number of months paid goes up to 24 months, and over 50s can get 36 months.

Of course all this depends on age and length of time worked.

It does mean that it would be possible to work a season (say mid-May to mid -September) in the hotel or restaurant sector, and then receive benefit.

This was always the case but it was difficult to find a 6 month job, as the season is shorter than that.

May be a life-line for some people.

Hi!

Qui va samo , va piono.

As written it could be agreed on in Junuary:

At present the Trade Unions do not quite seem to like the " agreement " text.

Yours,
