New & Replacement Windows

Hi

I am renovating & extending a large house and want to replace all the windows and doors with Bois/Alu mixte windows . I am looking for a major supplier who can make double vitrage units with low E glass and importantly can make the fenestration (window bars) as close to the originals as possible . I have found an American outfit that can do the Alu outside/bois inside petit bois with a black spacer in the glass which looks great ( Marvin ) but I am interested in French manufacturers . We have about 30 windows/doors all up so a small menusiere won't get me there . I am in the Lot but anywhere in the country would be fine . Any suggestions ?

I don't know where, but you can get them so keep looking.  Our menuisiere made (or had made - to be honest I know not which) hardwood window units which matched exactly the existing upstairs lucarne windows, except the new ones are double glazed and the window bars are separate hinged units inside and out which doesn't half make cleaning easier!  For a decent sized menuisiere 30 windows or doors would not be a problem.

I'm sure you'll find someone - here's one in the Creuse, for instance:

and here's another that, if you dig in, claims to do any size, shape, design:

I did a search for "fenetres fabrication sur mesure".  The first site above is one of a load that came up on this particular result: http://www.mylinea.com/toupoulamaison/porte_fenetre/

Hi Ozpete

There is a firm at Corlay in Brittany which manufactures(?) the Bois/Alu menuiserie.  They are called Line Services at Z. A. de Kerjoly, 22320 Le Haut Corlay.  Tel:  02 96 57 80 03.  They do the coloured aluminium double glazed windows as well, but they were far too expensive for us!
