CeeJay
Please excuse my ignorance on the terms used here.I have a tableau with some space to fit another disjoncteur and would like to connect up a 16a prise to plug in a wi-fi extender. There are two barre de pontage, one for neutral and the other for positive to carry the current to the existing disjoncteurs. If I fit in another disjoncteur do I have to buy a complete barre to cover all the disjoncteurs or can I just tack a bit on to the existing by overlapping on the last one. Chancer
Its neater if you use just one length and cut off the excess but as you have found you then have to buy another one each time you extend a rangée.You can do as you suggest or you can even make a shunt from a piece of 2.5mm2 as I have done in exactly the same situation. They are called peignes around here.Editted.You are not obliged to use them even for Consuel, they are a neat practical solution but their primary importance is to gonfler la facture whilst saving time, a win win for the sparky especially if he is touching an 80% remise. PaulT
Keep what you cut off and when you add a disjointeur (sp?) cut a piece off of the remainder so you have 2 'prongs' and use this as the link from what had been the last disjointeur.
