  1. Have you had any luck? If not there are two or three motorhome suppliers in Bourges (in 18) - on the road out east towards La Charite sur Loire. Also think that there may be a supplier at Vatan (in 36). S and G
  2. Dear All, I travel fairly regularly from either East Midlands or Liverpool to Limoges and back again via Ryanair. If it wasn't for them I couldn't get to "Our place in France" so often. Its quick, convenient and beats 12 hours on the road interspersed with 90 minutes on a ferry. Please stop whinging - just keep your fingers crossed that they continue to operate and so cheaply. Regards G and SE
  3. Many thanks for the contact details.  A phone call to them has revealed that they don't know yet?!
  4. Dear All,   Does anybody know what the likely impact of the strike will be on Ryanair flights to the UK tomorrow? I'm not quite sure who belongs to the Air France union. Any thoughts would be appreciated.   S and G
  5. Tresco, Many thanks for your response - the info. that you tracked down is very useful. I think that we will have to pluck up courage and have a chat with our neighbours - we get on with them well normally. The mayor will be our next port of call however. SandG
  6. I am not quite sure if this is the right place to post this but has anybody any idea as how we should tackle the problem of our neighbours very noisy dogs. When any of them get left behind when the others go hunting - they bark continually - 8am to 8pm. Madame goes out because she can't stand it either!
  7. I do believe that the road that you are enquiring about is open. S and G
  8. We travel from Calais via Rouen, Evreux, Dreux, Chartres, then pick up the A71 to Vierzon, and then A20. It's not a bad route at all - can get busy in Evreux. We occasionally stop overnight in Chartres. It takes about the same amount of time as the Paris route. Good luck S and G
  9. Helen, It seems that we have similar tastes to Alcazar. We spent a pleasant evening at the Ibis in town in Chartres on Boxing Day en route to the Creuse. We opened the curtains and there was the cathedral. The Ibis is easy to find, rooms are not bad, restaurant is OK but town is within very easy walking distance with lots of other options. Enjoy S and G
  10. Unfortunately we are not able to be in the area on the 13th July to see the Tour in our department - we will have to make do with David D on Eurosport. However we were lucky enough to be in Paris on the last day a couple of years ago. It was an amazing experience to be on the Champs Elysee - fantastic atmosphere. We saw Phil Liggett and Paul Sherwin doing their bit for Channel 4 and had an excellent view of the race itself. The advantage of a stage like this one is that the riders go past several times, we were also across the road from a Star screen and so got an even better impression because we could watch it all on the "tele" as well. If you have the opportunity to go up to Paris for the final day of the tour as well as to watch it locally we can fully recommend it.
  11. We are from south Cheshire and have a house in Bussieres St. Georges - just down the road from your place. We also hope to move over in the next few years.
