Prescriptions

I wasn't sure whether I should start a new thread for this question but it is all connected with the prescription process. In particular, the tiers payant card. We visited our doctor for the first time last week. She asked for our carte vitales and copied the details into her pc. We didn't think to mention the tiers payant card. Somewhat belatedly, MOH is going to the pharmacy today with the prescription. I assume that he needs to show my carte vitale but what about the tiers payant card. How does that work? How do we get reimbursed?
2.
Lorna, would you believe that I use the forum search 99% of the time [:)]? clair is just a translation of the adjective clear, with a capital C to make it look more like a name [:)]
I am surprised - your technique is obviously a lot better than mine! Thank-you for the explanation - it's an interesting one. I won't need to puzzle over that any more.
3.
Because, Lorna, it's not her real name.  Her real name is actually...................... Do a search on Clair and you'll see her name there![;-)]
I remember that conversation starting Sweets and just found the thread - but looking at the last page it doesn't seem to have come up with an answer (I could be missing something.)
4. Thanks Clair and Ron. [:D]. Clair, that is brilliant - no wonder you always seem to find references so quickly. I tried it just now and it took me right to the page I wanted. Ron, I was looking for specific posts in a thread I had read before and didn't want to trawl through the whole lot again. Also I have sometimes wanted to look for particular recipes in the food and wine thread where I wouldn't need to read the whole thread. Good advice nevertheless. P.S. Clair I alway wonder why you don't have an 'e' on your name. A French friend told me that Claire always has an 'e' but she must be wrong?
5. When I select a search result where the post is in a long thread I am taken to the first page of the thread. It can then take a while to find the post in question. (and I usually get distracted on the way and have to go back to the search results [:)]) Am I doing something wrong or is this just the way it works?
6.
I would be interested to hear if anybody has come across the same problem, or in fact managed to secure a carte vitale with a 'short' version.
My short certificate was initially accepted by our local CPAM office but I subsequently received a letter requesting a full certificate. We phoned the local registrar's office just as Russethouse describes. They ask for a few details such as parent's forenames. I seem to remember we received the certificate pretty promptly.
7. Hi sweets,  just spotted this in another place [;-)] and wondered if it might be of interest to you: http://www.totalfrance.com/france/forum/viewtopic.php?t=51734&highlight=&sid=04da528437cda9a843dacee186b943f3

LDN in France

Is anyone taking Low Dose Naltrexone (LDN) in France? The following site explains what it is if you don't know and are interested. http://www.ldnresearchtrust.org/
9. Benjamin, is that a French acronym? If so do you know what the English equivalent is? Two British organisations that might be able to help (they both have helplines) are the MS Resource Centre and the MS Society.
10.
I thought it had already started... [blink] I could swear the earth moved an hour or so ago...[8-)]
Clair, you are probably correct. I was correcting the GMT reference and assumed that was the time everything started. Sorry for any confusion. Tried the webcast and just got a black screen! Hope the accelerator works better.[:)]

12. Don't undress yet Weedon, it's only 8,15 GMT!
13.
08.36 GMT Where am I ?, it's very dark in here....................................[8-)]
No! We are two hours ahead of GMT here - it's only 7.49 GMT as I write.[6]
14. Thanks again all for the information and advice. OH did go down to our local tax office yesterday afternoon. He spoke to someone in the section that deals with the taxe fonciere and they amended their records to show our new address. The taxe d'habitation section was on another floor in the same building and he spoke to someone there as well and they have amended their records. Hopefully that has sorted things out.[:)]
15. Just watched the match this morning. It was good to see Federer playing so well again and to win a major tournament. Murray looked tired and seemed to have an injury. I was surprised he didn't call for some treatment. Still, a good result for him to have got so far.
16.
I will put it in the bathroom when we go to bed and hope that it as we can get come sleep!
I'm not sure you'll get away with that! I once had a cat who hated being left alone when she was a kitten. In the end I had her with me at night and she used to lie across my neck to sleep. Looking back I'm not sure how I ever managed to sleep like that. I would definitely keep the dogs away from her. She is much too small to defend herself. Let us know how you get on.

18. I haven't seen/heard Murray's comments yet - will check it out. I was going to listen to the Canal+ commentary via the mosaic screens and just happened to try selecting one of the channels which was showing the end of the match and was surprised to find that it came up! Normally we just get a screen telling us we need to subscribe. I couldn't believe how hard both players were hitting the ball even during long rallys - I don't know how they sustain that. Murray played really well, definitely the best I've seen him play. I didn't think Nadal played badly, he just couldn't find a way to get the better of Murray. Watching the two of them I thought that either would beat Federer easily - we'll see!
19. We've just had a phone-call from the UK and it seems our bill has been sent to our previous address. I understand from a previous post of Clair's that it is possible to view this on-line. I can't find the link though. Can someone point us in the right direction please?
20. Congratulations to Andy and good luck in the final! Last words on/from Nadal though [:)]. Nadal on the match: 'Andy played better than me both yesterday and today and he deserved to win. No excuses, no complaints.' On the change of court etc.: 'The conditions are the same for both players and he simply played better' On the final: 'Good luck to both and let's hope we see a great tennis match.' http://timesonline.typepad.com/rafael_nadal/2008/09/murray-was-bett.html Edit: sorry about the font changes - not intentional.
21.
Is it just for his tennis skills that Nadal is so admired?[6]
The answer is undoubtedly 'No', but probably not quite in the way that you are thinking[:P]. There are lots of very skilled players (Murray is one) and some of those are possibly more skilled. Many also have other characteristics which can be admired [:D]. If you follow Nadal and read his blogs or listen to interviews it is hard not to be impressed by him. He is very family oriented, down to earth and seems to be impossibly unaffected by the life he has to lead (and fortune he must be making). He is clearly very intelligent and has a disarming knack of not giving interviewers the answers they seem to be expecting. I am amazed how he and other players who are all so young can conduct themselves so well especially when they may have just spent hours in a gruelling match in melting temperatures.
22. Yes,  I feel a bit sorry for Federer, he has had a hard time of it this year. I wonder whether the illness is still affecting him. But he has been at the top for a long time so maybe this is the end of his supremacy.  In recent matches he has been making vast numbers of unforced errors and that is quite unusual for him. This year is the first time I've had the time and opportunity to watch and follow the tournaments. I hadn't realised how many the players have to play. I was soon impressed by Nadal and his attitude - he never seems to expect to win, takes one match at a time and never gives up. Although I'd like to see him win the tournament I wouldn't be too worried if he doesn't make it. He has already achieved so much this year and I think most of the top players are exhausted and looking forward to a rest.
23. Hi Sweet17, I'm a Nadal supporter but I'm pleased to see Murray playing well at the US Open. As he is the only British player at that level I do follow him and am pleased when he does well.  I think I will still be hoping for Nadal to win the semi-final. Like you I haven't been able to watch any matches as we don't have Canal +. However, I was looking at the TV schedule this morning and saw that Eurosport are showing all the men's quarter finals tomorrow so will try to catch some of that.  Up until now they have only shown the women's matches and I don't follow those.
24. Just logged on and seen this thread. Best wishes for a full and speedy recovery.
25. I think that semolina can be used in soup, try googling semolina soup (or vice versa).
