1.
Because censorship is still comparatively rare on this forum - this isn't AngloInfo [:D]
so you see this as a genuine post that deserves to be in the french post bag seams like the work of a child to me
2. th op was in the health section a short while ago why do the mods bother moving it , why not bin this rubbish
3.
Whilst I continue to have the greatest sympathy for fellow Brits already living in France and suffering as a result of these changes, I wonder if anybody in authority has even thought about another group of folk caught in limbo over this... In late 2003 I committed a large lump of my pension into buying a home in France to retire to. Since then, I have committed every piece of spare cash I could earn into renovating this property. Then, just as my wife and I are in the process of finishing it, we get hit by the health changes. Pre-existing conditions and not enough cash to pay the premiums prevent us from buying insurance. We are now stuck with our lovely dream home and fast running out of the money to keep going back and forth to it.  (We are in our late 50's)
My sympathy's Mel , but if you are late 50,s you will not have long until your wife reaches 60 she can then get an e121 and you can join the French health system . (I know retirement age for women is changing but think in this case they should be ok)
4.
There are many - diabetics, cancer sufferers (both currently undergoing treatment and in the past) heart problems, hypertension, physical injuries,  sadly, the list is endless.  Many are retired police, fire fighters and members of the armed forces whose early retirement was enforced by the nature of their employment - ie a statutory early retirement age for their profession.  Very sad. We believe they will be accepted in under the December statement, but in the interim they have no treatment available to them, and  some are trying to sell up, but it's not easy given the time available to them, and the fact that they are ill.
What a sad state this has come too , glad to see mad max was seperated out.
5. thanks coop`s              ok nobody accepted yet . of those refused did they have cancer , heart problems , or others ?
6. It may help others to know what grounds for appeal are being refused and which are being accepted.
7. sorry Joshua you will have to wait till the new year , nick dowlatshahi says so [:P] http://www.copypastearticles.com/article/11425/are-you-affected-by-the-changes-to-the-health-system-in-france/ thanks to the e106`ers who have replied
8. we keep seeing huge figures for the amount of E106 owners , but only a regular few share their experiences. is there not more who use this site ?
9. yes obviously the French Administration , all the French people I have met are nice people.
10. Yes RH I admit it is petty But what the French are doing to thousand of British people who have invested many thousands of pounds in France is a lot more than petty. You do not realise how angry this makes me feel.
11. If working in France do you pay 8% for health care ? Then as an early retired would you not pay the same 8% on your income ?
12. Picking up on what others have said , I started this thread because of my frustration about the new health rules , there is nothing we can do about it , signing a protest does nothing. I still love France so I will not be voting with my feet , but I can vote with my wallet .
13. some interesting replies I still feel the culprits are the French , when I got my CV 18 months ago they did not warn me when it ran out I would be without health cover.(because the rules at that time were that I would be able to join ) It is the French who have given some people 6 months warning , but only given me 4 weeks notice. But it is good to have a rant , and as gluestick just said the good in France far outweighs the bad.
14. But SD ,if you have an existing illness you can not get PHI
15.
Without being smart, surely you will pay the relevant taxes to the French authorities regardless of what car you buy or fuel you use in it, as will the tradespeople whose goods and services you employ?
seams I am just like the french , not thought it through [;-)]
16.
or perhaps a sensible solution, if you've reached that level of dissatiscation with "them" would be to consider whether your future is really in thier country?
you sound like one of the smug ones who this does no effect , not so easy to up and go after selling up in the uk to now find the goal posts have changed.
17. With all that's gone on re health care . Me I'm going to have my own little protest , If  I have to phi , it will be a UK company , next car I get will not be a French one , if I need jobs doing I will seek out British tradesmen. hit them in the pocket , how about you ?
18. depends on the age/make , our previous one used to get very hot , now I have replaced  it the new one stays cool to touch.
19. the proof is in the pudding so I download form 3710 from here and it goes in the post today I will report back
20.
Has anyone else received/returned such a questionnaire?  If so could you tell me what, if any, response you had from the CPAM. Thanks, Hester.
I would suggest you fill it in and send it , as I have done then we can compare replays . (for info , my answers all non and I kept hold of my CV)
21.
I would say you can not believe everything in connexion , in the November issue page 39 they stated "November 15 deadline for taxe d`habitation" , but I have mine in front of me and the deadline is 17 th December. Small detail I know, but it proves a point.
a lot of people wrote to connexion to point out they got it wrong , in the december issue they now admit some parts of france have untill december.
22. My E106 runs out in jan08 ,like many . As I have had nothing official to tell me otherwise I was planing to apply for affiliation to CMU . My question is ,as I moved to France mid 2006 my tax avis shows an income of 9000 euros (half a years income in France), will this amount of income allow me in under the old rules ? (the income is from company pensions joint figure for me and my wife)
23. I would say you can not believe everything in connexion , in the November issue page 39 they stated "November 15 deadline for taxe d`habitation" , but I have mine in front of me and the deadline is 17 th December. Small detail I know, but it proves a point.
24.
It is not just the numbers, but the costs to the insurers are a good deal higher too as France charges more!  And the mandatory level of cover is frightening - as it must include gp visits, routine drugs etc etc!
oh well bang goes that idea , its back to the Uk for me for a few years untill the pention and e121 kicks in.
25.
About half what it does here!
then I need to contact them and tell them where a lot of new customers are [:-))]
