1. My father in law was an accountant with the commision in Brussels. On retirement and return to the UK, a few years ago, he sold his lhd Beamer and Subaru to the above London dealers. No problems.
 2.
Oh you can get Zinsser in France, I used to buy it in France, I think from a professional stockist, expensive stuff. I have bought it in the UK since moving back, and frankly for some reason found the french stuff better, but there you go. ps:The stuff I got, didn't half pong......
Zinsser B-I-N (UK)  £45.99 / 2.5lts Zinsser B-I-N (FR)  €89.00 / 2.5lts No  brainer really. France is an expensive and non- competitive country in many respects alongside the UK.  A couple of weeks ago I posted that I had purchased a Panasonic breadmaker from the UK for £59.99. The same model, cheapest price I could find at the time, in France was €250. For one off specialist items, France is the last place I would research.  Best of both worlds, really, reside here shop elsewhere. Edit:  As a heads up to anyone buying this kind of thing, these people are actually very competitive. I bought this particular model from them as they, at the time, were offering the best european price. Apologies France. You see you can do it, if you try.
 3.
'liberal elite' What a pointless label.
Only to those it succinctly portrays. cajal
 4.
"Rohypnol abuse causes a number of adverse effects, including drowsiness, dizziness, loss of motor control, lack of coordination, slurred speech, confusion, and gastrointestinal disturbances"
Certain posters on here causes a number of adverse effects, including drowsiness, dizziness, loss of motor control, lack of coordination, slurred speech, confusion, and gastrointestinal disturbances. You know who you are. regards cajal
 5.
If Time magazine make Trump man of the year, I guess they would have made Hitler the same in the 1930s
Keep up at the back! TimeMagJan1939 regards cajal
 6.
Now, if alone, I would head to Vancouver Island like a shot if I had the papers.
Well you'd feel quite at home as it's full  of ex London Transport buses doing the tourist bit. regards cajal
 7.
Maybe somebody somehow slipped them some Rohypnol, it's as credible a theory as alleged mass non lethal gassing !
Observing the time at which you posted your reply, do you think you might benefit yourself from a dose of the above?  Or have you been and procured yourself a paper-round? regards cajal
 8. Hi Sunshine, This is a blog of an American lady setting out the reasons why she doesn't use 'chalk paint' including the problems you are experiencing. In her blog she refers to this product which I know is sold by Screwfix UK and it does do what it says on the tin. As with any quality product you will pay a premium  but for another £5, delivery will be free. Good luck with your project. regards cajal
 9.
so I told them in very unladylike language to desist, ..
Yowser, yowser. Russethouse. I would go as far as to kill to listen to you using 'unladylike language'. Can you pm me your number and I'll give you a call. regards cajal
 10. Looks like the previous May result still stands. Here regards cajal
 11. Perhaps today could  be the day to dust down and resurrect this thread. regards cajal
 12.
But can you not stack them inside the Rayburn? Kills a few turkeys with one stove!!
Classic regards cajal
 13. @ albf   The subject 'bird' would seem to describe you to a tee. They are non stackable as well. If the supplier/shipper nails one in each corner of the pallet and possibly one in the middle they would then be stackable. Ha, and you were telling everyone you know about logistics, Tsk. regards cajal
 14. Sorted then. You service our cars. I'll make your gates. regards panamagold
 15. Hi Nomoss, I forgot that I had a photobucket account. (Mrs c reminded me) The photo is up there should you wish to view it. regards cajal
 16.
I hunted the net and Leboncoin for a suitable gate. Not much available, but eventually I found a place in Bretagne which can make wooden field type gates to measure, which I thought would look nice if painted blue to match the house woodwork.
Do you mean like these two I made a couple of years ago? The rails were in 5 metre lengths x5 = €80. The stiles were2 x4metre lengths = €24 which I was able to load on my Ford F150 with ease. The opening between the walls is 3 metres. All the joints are mortice and tenoned, pegged and glued up with polyurethane glue. The 2 leading stiles are both rebated top to bottom to enable them both to interlock. The lock-down bolt, a spare from some volets, locates into a piece of copper pipe I hammered into the ground. I also fitted 4 new gonds into the wall for the hinges. Each gate took me 4/5 days to complete and hang, although there was a 6 months delay between finishing the righthand and starting the lefthand. A small matter of a triple pontage cardiac interupted the work schedule. Go on, try it yourself. Edit: Photo previewed but did no post. Sorry. regards cajal
 17.

Fillon can hardly be called a moderate. He has the most neo-con economic policy of the candidates, and 'voted against same-sex marriage when it was introduced by the Socialist president François Hollande, and had the support of the traditional Catholic right. Claiming to stand for Christian family values, he has campaigned against medically assisted procreation for single women or lesbian couple'
Sounds like a stout bloke... [Www]
Gluestick, you can't go around saying things like that infront of all these pinko liberals. You'll get yourself banned. Then what will we do? regards cajal
 18. So, yet again, the pollsers got it wrong. Next Sunday's run off will field a more clear cut decision making process of Fillon v Juppe for the Republican voter. However, there is a possibility, the Socialists could busy themselves with some tactical voting by paying their €2 and swearing allegiance to the Republican party. Don't forget then, don't read the polls. regards cajal
 19.
Curiua.com can be useful. It does an automatic search of UK, FR, DE, IT Amazon and ebay sites and gives you the euro prices with sterling equivalent (excluding delivery costs)
Thanks pomme for the heads up. Very useful. I bought one of these  in June, to replace our 15 year old one, from Amazon UK. It was a 'Deal of the Day'....£59.99 + £6.98 delivery and, because of a kock-up on their behalf, they refunded the delivery cost. Now, using pomme's useful link, check out the eye watering difference I would have to have stumped up   had I purchased from mainland Europe.(the ebay listing is for a paddle only.) regards cajal
 20.
I did not mention Mrs Clinton.
Ah, but I did and it would appear that the irony of your earlier post is lost on yourself. Up and until Jan 20th 2017 a chap, name of Obama, will be keeping the Oval office desk seat warm ( that is when he's not out of the office on jollies.)  Until then anything could happen. So, here we have the two final contenders vying to become POTUS, of which there can only be one winner, and suprise suprise.....they've both had their hands' in the till. regards cajal
 21.
And this man is gonna run the US. Shame, shame!
And This woman wanted to run the US. Shame, shame! In August 2013, the New York Post broke a story showing the Clinton Foundation had spent $50 million on private travel. Former President Bill Clinton had apparently become addicted to private jets. The general election was still more than three years away, and already the Clinton Foundation was transforming from a well-meaning charity to a private slush fund enriching the Clintons, making a mockery of Hillary’s claim the next year that her family was “dead broke.” regards cajal
 22.
I'm sure I have seen bigger last year, last night the moon didn't look that different to normal and was rather disappointing. In fact last year, or was it earlier this year,  it looked 'huge' and beautiful and it really looked like it was hanging at the end of our road, Ah well.
There was a 'supermoon' back in March this year.  It gave the Indonesians a total eclipse. regards cajal
 23. People tend to view local or world events through their vision of ideoloy, ethnicity or social class. Around 15 years ago I remember seeing a programme on CH4 that was discussing an ideology termed 'illusion of assymetric insight" (another selection of 'buzz' words) This is a belief that certain groups of people believe that they understand others views better than others understand theirs. ie "we understand your views better than you understand ours". Apparently, not only do this group assume they understand other peoples opinionns, social political etc, better than the people themselves but they also believe their knowledge of their own views and opinions is superior. This leads to the assumtion, that knowing what they know, any reasonable person would agree with them. We are seeing a lot of this now and I believe it applies more to left leaning social/political types than right leaning types. It's a rare occurance to witness the 'right' demonstating en masse in the West. Inevitably it will only get worse thanks to t'internet and social media. regards cajal
 24.
And we have people like Robert Rochefort looking after our interests in Europe :(
Ah, that waannker. " Interpellé pour exhibition sexuelle, Robert Rochefort plaide coupable Le député européen, interpellé à la fin du mois d’août pour s’être masturbé dans un magasin de bricolage, a accepté la peine que lui proposait le parquet contre la reconnaissance de sa culpabilité." Here regards cajal
