  1. I was sick and tired of my satellite phone line, calls were always of bad quality and I spent most of the 2 mins call saying "can't hear you". Anyway I threatened the company today to take things further if they didn't agree to cancel the phone contract, which they have. Now the house I am in is only temporary probably for a few more months so I don't want to get tied into a contract, so are FT my only option for a landline?
  2. think Jedward did the best they could LOL Hope Blue win, like the song but maybe not catchy enough
  3. Yes Cooperlola, you have the same person - remember all the issues we had over CPAM and health care during my treatment for a serious illness??? Anyway back to the issue in hand, I've gone through both forms again and "saved" them with an accuse de reception so i presume they've gone through this message shows on the tax page merci de votre déclaration en ligne. Voici les informations associées à votre déclaration : •Procédure : Déclaration des revenus 2010 • Annexes jointes : Déclaration des revenus encaissés hors de France 2047 Am I right in thinking both forms have gone through on line (if so I will breath a sigh of relief)! Thanks to you both for your help
  4. 2042 box AJ the salary earned offshore 2047 box I and box VII the same amount Yes, that is exactly where I put the figures on both forms so I can't understand why online it won't let me proceed on the 2047 form, I'm sure I must be doing something wrong but am not sure what. Sorry if there has been confusion in my earlier message That'll teach me for trying to be clever!
  5. Thanks for trying to help Cooperlola, I think I will send in the paper form again as normal, because it seems complicated. They've never raised any issues with the way its filled in, and someone at the tax office filled it in for me the first year - 8 years ago. What is the saying "don't fix what isn't broken"? The problem now is that I've submitted the 2042 form already and received the number, so not sure if I can just send them the 2047. Thanks again
  6. But I don't receive a service pension, purely a salary that is offshore, not taxed in UK but taxed in France as being a French resident (you have to pay somewhere LOL). I'm more confused than ever now
  7. Here is the message: Afin que toutes les donnees saisies soient enregistrees dans vos formulaires de declaration vous devez atteindre la derniere rubrique du formulaires suivant: Declaration des revenus No 2042/2042 C/2042 IOM utilisez les onglets numerotes situes en haut de l’ecran pour visualiser ce(s) formulaires. Vous pourrez ensuite acceder au resume de vos declarations....... on form 2042 I just fill out TRAITEMENTS, SALAIRES ETC. on form 2047 I usually fill out the same Box 1 and then box VII at the back Thanks for trying to help Cooperlola
  8. Having just looked again, should the following box be ticked if income is earned via a salary, non French and not liable for paying tax anywhere except France ? ...."Des revenus imposables de source étrangère ouvrant droit à un crédit d'impôt égal au montant de l'impôt français correspondant à ces revenus......." I'm just wondering if this is why the pages don't seem to allow me to submit? I've never filled this in on the paper version though.
  9. I did manage to find it thanks, but, when I click "suivre" on the last page I keep getting an error message come up - in French of course - so I am not sure what I am doing. I found the other form very easy but am getting stumped on this one.
  10. I've managed to fill out the blue 2042 form but am struggling to find how to fill out the 2047 red form. Can anyone help please (easy step by step stages please) Thanks
  11. Many thanks to both of you. Now its just a question of seeing if they do "unlimited" calls at a low cost.
  12. Thanks I've changed our accounts as suggested. I've got no issues either way with saving trees or so on, its just personal choice and I prefer not to keep receiving envelopes with statements when I do online banking anyway.
  13. Is it possible to put a stop to statements from Credit Agricole coming through the post? If so is there a way to stop it from your account on line?
  14. We're presently living in temporary accommodation but hope to be moving into our own permanent house by the end of the year If we sign up with France Telecom purely for a landline, do we have to have a minimum contract of 1 year? Or in the instance of moving are they understanding and don't hold you to the contract Our own house is just on the other side of the border so the two numbers would be different I think.
  15. I've bought some seeds from Fothergills as I thought I would give them a go, it appears they don't need propping up like other pea varieties. Has anyone grown these? If so how was it did you have success?
  16. You'll get used to it soon Mr C, I'm still working my way around windows 7 but so far so good. happy typing
  17. We are also about to go through the same process, well in a few months so any advice is greatly appreciated but I too have some questions which I hope might also help the OP How do you start (a) sign up with a driving school or (b) just take to the roads with an A plate on the car? Are there any websites where one can learn and practise the French theory test? Like in the UK does the theory test have to be passed first before driving on the roads? I've probably got lots more questions but hope the answers to this will also hellp OP - sorry to hijack your thread
  18. We would like to get fit at home and from ads it does look like the Xbox Kinect is good fun. Does anyone know anything about these as I do have a few questions before purchasing. Sorry if I've posted in the wrong thread - perhaps it should be under HEALTH LOL ?
  19. DONE IT AND VERY PLEASED WITH MYSELF! I clicked on the lines in the bottom r.h. bar which then gave me the password to the router. This I then keyed into the printer and continued with the CD, and am pleased to say it has all worked well. Thanks to all for your help.
  20. """Now this secret code is a very long number made up of numbers and letters. On some routers it's stuck on the bottom or is in a card or book that came with the router but if you already talk to the Internet using a wireless connection you will know what that number is already. If you know how to access the router to set it up you can also find the number as part of the WiFi setup screen.""" On the bottom of my router I've got a model no (WRT160Nv3), a s/n and a mac address, do I use the model no.? I wasn't the person who set up the WiFi router so not sure how to find it on my laptop. If it isn't one of these no. how do I find it? I've got windows 7 as my operating system. Many thanks
  21. I didn't realise it was the IP address that you key into the "passphrase" bit on the printer so many thanks Quillan for explaining all that. I will let you know how I get on when I try to do it alll again later today. Many thanks for everyone else for your answers.
  22. When I install the printer I get 2 options a) with a USB cable or b) Wifi No I don't think the printer is linked to the router (don't know how to do this) Yes the wifi light is lit on the printer I do have a button on the router, haven't yet tried to press this whilst trying to get the 2 to pair does this help find a solution
  23. I have 2 Wifi laptops that get Wifi via a Cisco Linskys router (we have Alsatis internet). OS is Windows 7 I have a Canon Pixma MG5200 printer/scanner/copier that has a WiFi system which I've made sure is enabled. How on earth do I sort them out to talk to each other, it is baffling me
  24. Hi, my OH started receiving his private pension last year, it is a very small amount -- around £1000 pa paid in arrears - and he took the "tax free lump sum" which was a little bit more last year. He works offshore and we pay all our contributions to the French system but how do we get on with regard to declaring this pension. We've already received forms from the UK asking us questions about the pension and other income - as I said other income is declared to France - so should we declare this pension to France, and if so where, how on the 2042/2047 forms? Sorry I know it is a bit complicated so need to find out before the tax date looms. Many thanks

I have to attend hospital frequently both as an inpatient and outpatient. The hospital always write to my doctor but sometimes it can take weeks for her to get the letter.
