1.

From what I understand DSK enjoys the company of women and has a liberal marriage, it seems clear he is a man with a healthy sex drive, he is alleged to have propositioned female colleaugues over the years and has quite probably used prostitutes (the oldest profession in the world), none of this shocks me or makes me think that he is guilty of the alleged offence or incpapble/unsuitable of doing the job that he did.
A man with "a healthy sex drive" who "has quite probably used prostitutes"!!!!!!! Well Chancer, I regard myself as a man with a "healthy sex drive" but I've never found a need to go and pay a prostitute! In fact I'll go as far as to say I feel quite sad for the bloke that has got to resort to paying for it rather than having the sexual act as a part of a loving relationship.
There seems to be a misunderstanding about this.  Most of us or many of us prefer a loving relationship and would not act as mentioned above. But, there are people who do and as long as it is between consenting adults, that's their affair not ours.
Once again, I couldn't agree more, Christine .. Hey, what are you doing tonight ?  [;-)]............. LOL !! ............ [:D]
 2.

And you think all the above is laudable, Chancer????   I can see why you love life in France [:@] Mrs R51
Do you like Prince Charles ?
The fact that you compare the two things just shows the width of the void between your view and mine.  Can you name any one Prince Charles had an extra marital affair with that he did not go on to marry ?   Actually the way some of the French are reacting to this makes me think that some of them have forgotten they had a revolution !
Prince Charles lied to Lady Diana, he married her, yet , he loved another woman. Lady Diana was used, and everybody knows the whole story and how it ended . By your standards , I supposed he shouldn't  be trusted in public life, because of what he did., then.   [Www] And I can't see the link with the revolution !  [:)]

ABSOLUTELY !
5. Even if I don't agree with everything you write, I do think this is a balanced way of expressing your ideas. Thank you ...
 6.
I feel that Frenchie and I are quite different to you ladies in our views as it is we who are trying to be impartial and fair until there is any proof of anything.  We have not insulted anyone. You are the ones who are taking things into the gutter with your condescending remarks and judgement of others.  I have been quite surprised to see a moderator make such remarks as sleazy and a dirty old man when referring to DSK.  That is certainly lacking respect.
And I second this .
 7. Well; it was not my intention, indeed. Just remembered there was Betty in your username, thus the BS . I have often been somewhat hurt by what I ve read in this thread, have even reported two postings. For instance, when Pachapapa wrote , on page 108 , " read the comments by enraged froglets with basic English ... hilarious. " ; I FELT insulted, but in fact , now, I don't care, what matters is that I can express my feelings on here. And yes, it is far from easy for Christine and I, because we are in the minority , because this is an English forum.
 8. Latest poll about the opinion of the French  :     Le Parisien
 9. And mine, I'm thinking of her. She helped us getting the tickets to Le Mans, and she's been so kind. Best wishes to both of you , and yes , keep us informed !
 10.
And some people, most of them not "Anglo-Saxon"[:D], are tainted with amoral immorality.[6]
Oh lala, j'ai peur, je rotirai en enfer ? [:)]
 11.

Quite, I suspect that some people are fixated on the alleged crime and are either just ignorant of the bigger picture or choosing to ignore it.
I dont know about choosing to ignore the bigger picture, for me there simply is not one, the polemique is did DSK commit rape or another sexual offence or is he innocent.
Agreed !
 12.
As far as I am aware no one has denied there was a sexual liaison so my feeling is that its already very bad,
I didn't know a sexual liaison was " bad ", if both partners agreed.. A rape is a crime . Completely different  .
 13.
I can't believe that he still has support in France.
Why wouldn't he ??  If that alleged rape was a hoax, then, whether he cheats on his wife or not is not seen by many French people ( including me ) ,  as relevant to his ability as a political man . Why can't you accept that some people may think differently from you , and yet be as good people as you believe you are ?

 15. Well, you're right Christine. And that recorded phone call, openly wondering how much money she could make with that alleged rape story......   En français je dirais qu'elle est grillée, n'en déplaise à Mr Pachapapa and Mme Bettysomething ( don't remember ...)
 16.  Un peu d'respect !! [Www] From a froggy with basic English .. ...  .......
 17. Can't get enough of the following song http://youtu.be/tEmW4PdB0so

 19. I quite like them too, why not ? May be fun .
 20. Indeed...........................................

I'll watch TV this PM .
 23. Where did you read that " evidence supports the commission of nonconsensual forced sexual  acts " ? can't find it ..
 24.

Something to do with this report in the New York Times?
If this report is true then it puts a different complexion on this case. Perhaps we should all remember to reserve judgement until the facts emerge.
TOO  TRUE !! That is why, even now there is that recorded phone conversation between the maid and a convict etc ( see the NY T article), I prefer to wait til facts are proved.
