  1. Hi Dotty Sorry we have confused you[:)] lets try this... What area are you trying to cover? Dogwood
  2. Hi Dotty As you say you need 7m3 of concrete. Can you tell me what square meterage you are wanting to cover and what thickness? If it is just for a patio or standard flooring then 4" will be thick enough. If it is for foundations then it will need to be a lot thicker. and as the last post said the mix will be stronger. I can confirm my local supplier can deliver readymix for about 100€ per m3 (min delivery 1m3 max 6m3 per truck.) This is without pump, I you need one of these then that is extra. Yes it is about 10 sacs cement to 1 cube ballast Dogwood
  3. Hi Normaly you use about 10 sacks (35kg) per 1 cubic meter ballast (sand & stone) I would highly recomend ready mix, cost about 100€ per cubic meter. To mix it yourself ( approx) Ballast 30€ per mtr. cement10 x 5.50€ per sack = 85€ per cubic mtr. and a LOT of hard work If you do the normal 4" /100mm deep you need 1m3 to do 10m2 so for your 7m2 a meter should be more than enough. Dont forget the reemesh. Just reread your post did i make an error? are you looking for 7m3 or 7m2?  (cubic meter or square meter ) Dogwood

  5. WHY I LIVE ON MY OWN Ten reasons men prefer guns over women: 10. You can trade an old 44 for a new 22. 9. You can keep one gun at home and have another for when you're on the road. 8. If you admire a friend's gun and tell him so, he will probably let you try it out a few times. 7. Your primary gun doesn't mind if you keep another gun for a backup. 6. Your gun will stay with you even if you run out of ammo. 5. A gun doesn't take up a lot of closet space. 4. Guns function normally every day of the month. 3. A gun doesn't ask, "Do these new grips make me look fat?" 2. A gun doesn't mind if you go to sleep after you use it. And the number one reason a gun is favoured over a woman . . . 1. YOU CAN BUY A SILENCER FOR A GUN [:D][:D]
  6. I heard BMW bikes handle funny!!!!   [IMG]http://i129.photobucket.com/albums/p212/muddypaws4x4/GS.jpg[/IMG] Dogwood
  7. Hi Matt Yes the 3rd figure is the rated nose weight 75kg. forgot to put that in my last post [blink] As for your 750kg I may be wrong ( It has happened before [Www]) but I think you will find that is also the rated axle weight. your trailer will probably still only be rated at 499kg gross. [:(]   Dogwood
  8.   Gastines wrote  "I have bad Tinnitus and quite poor hearing so that is my excuse, all be it a fairly lame one." Hi Gastines Sorry that is as you say a fairly lame excuse. I am 75% deaf I also have bad Tinnitus ( Too many years working in a ships engine room) [blink] My wife also speaks better french than me, but she workes in England so I have to make do on my own[:P] This is not a serious dig at you[:P][:P] so get your wife to teach you to say " I am a bit deaf  please speak louder" What, A, Pardon, When they do start to shout at you, you can say " Sorry i dont speak French"[:D][:D][:D]   Dogwood
  9. HI I am not certain but I suspect it's the axle rating. I have a 4 wheel trailer which is also rated at 499kg. to stay within the 500kg no carte grise rule. on my plate it says 600kg x2   Dogwood
  10. Just for you BB [IMG]http://i129.photobucket.com/albums/p212/muddypaws4x4/66cb57e9.jpg[/IMG]   Dogwood
  11. Hi  Interesting post this. I have been asked this question before by friends and family in England. It's usualy comes along with " Why have you moved to France?I hate the French" Altough most of them don't even know any French!![:@] I would never pressume to call myself French. I regard myself as English by birth and European by choice. I live in France because I like the French way of life. I did look at other countries in Europe but found they did not offer me what I was looking for. Now 10 years on and I still happy with my choice. Dogwood  [8-|]

  22. Hi I'm back on my soap box again, about my favorite subject.   [:)] I have heard all sorts of nonsence about how long it takes to reregister a car here in France.  I read just recently how it took someone nearly a year to do it!       I have spoken to others who have taken ages because they had problems. I know departments are different in what they require. I also know if it is a bit difficult with a grey import, kit car, or simular .But if you take a "normal" car then it should be straight forward. I would be interested to here how different it is in other departments and why it takes them so long.  Just for the record my Quad bike came from Canada, was imported into Spain where it was homologated for Europe. It was then imported to the UK where it was registered for the road. I then brought it to France. I got it reregistered here it took 10 days start to finish. ( The registration not the trip from Canada[8-)] So here is my story of how quick can it be done. I went back to the UK to collect my Ford Escort and to see Family, Mid Feb. Whilst there I went to my local Ford dealer (Dagenham Motors) and asked for a Certificate of conformity for France. They took my details, 5 days later a new CoC arrived (In French) Free of charge. I phoned my Insurance agent in France to arrange cover. I told them I would collect it when I arrived.  I live in the Charente dept16. I was booked with Speedferries for this Tuesday at 8:00am.GMT I arrived in Ruffec in time to book into the Garage for a Control tecnique. This was for Thursday at 15:00 ( Should have telephoned might have got it earlier)       Thursday I collected my Insurance then went to the CT centre. Ct done OK, too late to go to Angouleme by now so left it till morning Friday morning (Today) went to the Prefecture in Angouleme with all my paperwork or so I thought. When I got to the counter I was told I needed one more piece of paper  ( O Bu**er I thought) Needed a trip to the Hotel de impots for a "quitus des impots". 30 mins later back at the prefecture now with ALL the paperwork. 25 mins later paid over 190€ and voila a nice shiny new Carte Grise. Then off to Feu Vert for some plates. Job done, had a spot of lunch then back home to fit them. So there you have it from my arrival in France it took 4 days start to finish. [:-))][:-))] OK NOW I CHALLENGE ANYONE TO DO IT QUICKER (It can be done) [blink] Yes this is just an attempt to get more people to get there cars registered  here  [Www] Dogwood AQR
  23. Hi Owen First I would like to appologize to you if I came across all moral and aggresive  ( I don't need anybody to appologize for me)  If you read my other posts you can see why I get very uptight about these people who just blatently flaunt the rules by hiding behind the old " I'm English I don't understand!!" chestnut[:@] I can see now that you have attemted to do the right thing but was subject to some dodgy info. I beleive your Insurance agent may have misinformed you.  (I could be wrong it has happend before [blink] ) I still beleive I am correct with the information I gave you in my first post. So take care because there is a possability you insurance will not fully cover you if you have an accident.  Dogwood AQR
