  1. Hello Mr. Motorhead What was your question? No my name is not Fred it is ALBERT yes ALBERT TROLL and I am proud of it. I really wish people would use their real names instead of things like Motorhead. Have a nice day Albert
  2. Hello Motorhead I take exception to you using my name like this. I do not want to be baited. I am not a bear I am a member of the Troll family, someone who is proud to carry on the families proud traditions. How would you feel if I said I am good at Motorhead baiting? Regards with a deep feeling of personal injury. Albert
  3. Hello To be sold without authorisation a black powder weapon must first of all be a replica (for example a Remington 1860 revolver) must be muzzle loader without a metalic cartridge. You can have has many as you like and buy them without authorisation. I buy all mine on line from www.tecmagex.com who can give advice on all aspects of shooting and hunting in english. Regards Albert
  4. Hello And police hot pursuits didn't do too badly in the ending of life stakes last year. Regards Albert
  5. Hello Why shouldn't someone have fifteen guns or for that matter fifty three guns. Unless they are first or fourth category then the person has the right to hang them on the wall, lean them against the wall or anywhere else he feels like. It is nice to see a little bit of tolerance towards gun owners as there is in France. You know guns don't kill people, people kill people. Bye Albert
  6. Hello Have you got legal assistance on your home insurance if so then they may be able to help. Otherwise you need a bag of cash and a lot of patience. I have just finished litigation against a insurance company after a constructer went bust on me. I have won the case (it took four years) and got my compensation but not all of my legal costs back. Regards Albert
  7. Hello I always pay cash for small bits of work like cleaning ect and most of the French people I know do the same. In France the law on employment is a ass If you start telling the cleaning lady that you will be docking 20% off her 30€ she will just say thanks but no thanks it's not worth getting out of bed for. I knew a young bloke who decided to deliver the local free paper for a bit of extra dosh and after the first week had only made about 40€ and then yes they took 8€ charges off him. One of the great negatives about France is the oppression of enterprise I wish we had a administration modicum of backbone. I am waiting the coming of a French Maggie T. Albert
  8. Hello You have to remember that any minimum wage system is a double edged sword. It helps the really low paid but also creates a wage norm which in some cases takes wages away from the market place. I think any responsible employer who values his employee's skills and contribution to his business will pay them a decent salary. I certainly look upon my employee's as partners, they donate their time and skill, so it is in my interest to make sure that within reason they are happy to come to work. Whilst on the subject of the disincentive to employ, the tax professional went up the more people you employed, however someone saw the light and that is being redressed. Have a nice day Albert
  9. Hi Ronnie I will attempt to answer your question. I like a lot of other people look at various French forums. I have looked at Living France for over a year now and find it a very informative site. However being a nice inoffensive sort of person I was rather nervous to enter the fray (with a name like mine) because of the few contributors who seemed to attack anything and everyone. So yes I did see the Outcast saga but surely that is no reason that you should start what could be a personal attack on me. Now you are taking this thread seriously offtrack and just inviting the moderators to moderate. So Please ronald old chap try to keep focused on what,s going on. Cheers Albert
  10. Hello No you don't need a licence in France for a shotgun. For a handgun you need a detention des ares from the prefecture. To get this you need to be a member of a shooting club and have suitable security. To own a full bore rifle of a non military calibre you need to be a member of a shooting club or have a hunting permit, you also have to declare it to the police/gendarmerie. There are no security requirements for hunting rifles or shotguns you can have as many as you like and hang them all on the wall if you like. I think Quillan posted a good deal of info on this subject a little while ago. If you would like more info on shooting in France pm me. Regards Albert
  11. So Ronald you are the infamous Outcast. I read the rules and I thought there was something about this being a capitol offence. Anyway what about all the French cars driving about with just one headlight or with one headlight pointing at the floor and one pointing into the sky. I think that shining ill adjusted headlights at you should be have a hanging penalty or worse. By the way some of these posts remind me of a gang of grumpy old men/women with the tolerance of a rattlesnake. Have a nice evening and I hope you don't get banished to the outer reaches of the galaxy. Albert
  12. Hello If you pay smic the employer gets a rebate on social charges, which then work out at just less than 20%. If you pay a bit over the smic you don't get the rebate and the charge circa 41% how is that for an incentive to reward one's employees. Albert
  13. Hello How many French,German,Belgian ect. cars do you see in the uk with headlight deflectors? Do the uk police stop them? Regards Albert
  14. Hello Mr. Avery I would like to point out to you that my name is Albert Troll and I take great exception to it being shortened to "Albi". It is bad enough people using my name to get at people they don't like without you giving me a nickname. Maybe you like being called Ron instead of Ronald but I would like you to refer to me as Albert or Mr.Troll. It is not my fault that when my parents came to England from Russia they shortened the name of Trolsky to what my father thought of as a typically English name. He was like a lot of us, he badly wanted to integrate into the society that had taken us in. All the best Albert
  15. Hello What you could do is get youself a mailbox address in the uk(pretty cheap) then transfer ownership to yourself and then you will have the new reg document. And as the dvlc will not have your husbands address then they will not be able to hassle for money. Of course you could insure it in france and keep it on uk plates for just about everThe cops really couldn't care less. Albert
