We are looking for a small gite for two in Burgundy for a two week holiday late Sept early October, can anyone help us please?

There is am alternative to a chemical loo use a composting toilet and you can use the results to fertilise your soil. There is information on the Internet look for humanure and it will take you to the site and all the information is there. Tootles.

I had the same query, I e mailed the makers of my cooker who told me that it could not be converted, so we are going to sell it.

I have only recently started using this site and it is fantastic!!!Had I found it earlier we could have been more ready to attempt the great escape........... We are moving to France at the end of this year, two oap's who can no longer afford to live in the UK and after horrendous problems with the house we are living in do not want to anyway. Be wary of children who buy you a house (for which you pay rent) and then do not want to do the repairs when the roof leaks over the Central heating boiler two weeks before Christmas.We have only just got the roof repaired both of us suffering from a great deal of stress in the process. I have found that posting a question either results in a response or information as to where I can find what I am looking for, it is wonderful so please stop the carping about the site being off line for a couple of days and be thankful for small mercies. Can any one out there help me please. We are pensioners with a basic state pension and small personal pensions the total of which does not bring us into the tax band in the UK. We are considering moving to France and understand that we will have to pay tax on our pensions in France. Can anyone tell me the levels at which Tax become payable i.e. is there a personal allowence as there is in the UK and also what the rates are? I have been trying to find this information for over a week now, and its driving me bats!!! Please someone save me from the funny farm!!! Tootles.
