  1. And well done Mr Coops. Thanks for keeping us posted. You sound like a treasure, like my hubby. Give her a hug from Northern France. Suey
  2. Looking good Deb. Good luck tomorrow. Suey xx
  3. Bon appetit dear Deb. Hope all goes well tomorrow Suey xx
  4. The number of times I look in the mirror and my mother looks back. It's a bit scary but she was a wonderful woman, so don't mind really. And thankfully I have inherited her optimism and wicked sense of humour. Hope all has gone well (or is well gone) today Deb. Suey x
  5. Went to see my doctor this morning re: losing my prescription for my clarityn, we were chatting about my op and asked if I was experiencing menopause symptoms, he then told me that HRT for me is interdit.  However, he did give me calcium and vitamin D for my bones to stop the osteoporosis. Suey
  6. I am restarting gym in our village this week and in the local town twice a week from next week.  So that should get the pulse going and the temperature up. Thanks all you are so kind.  Also I loved the 2007 messages re: the meanie pause.  So funny but with such good advice. Suey
  7. I have to say that I was put off macaroni during a recent stay in hospital. For my first meal I was given leek soup and a plate of plain, cooked macaroni. On the day after my op I was given tomato soup and, you guessed it, plain, cooked macaroni. Soooo, I added the macaroni to the tomato soup, et voila minestrone type soup - much better. Suey
  8. Hi Deb, I have Jenny Murray's book, bought it last year and now for the life of me I cannot find the b****y thing.  OH in UK today so have some time to have a good look. Suey x
  9. I am unable to take HRT due to being a BRCA2 gene carrier, can anyone suggest any safe alternatives to assist with the mid-life power surges (hot flushes) I am experiencing?  These have been brought on by the removal of my ovaries!  I'd had no symptoms before. Thank you in sweaty anticipation. Suey
  10. Succinct and to the point.  Why beat about the bush. Suey

I normally take Noctyl but am going to give Donormyl a go. Mind you having problems sleeping with the newly onset meanie pause, phew....!!!! Suey
  13. Hi Debs, How are you?  I bet it's been a long week with all your appointments.  Bon courage and keep strong.  I think a Jedward wig would be good ;0) Suey x

    EHIC / CEAM

Norman, the thing that always amazes me is how surprised people are that they need their EHIC when they visit the UK, when they reside in France. "Oh but we're british they say" yes but you are not in the british system anymore! (or perhaps should not be.... but we won't go there eh!). Suey
  15. We, like you, loved our old picassos - we had two.  Then last year we decided to buy a newer model and opted for the C4 picasso.  Once again very good, roomy, comfortable, economical (diesel) and good all round visibility. Suey
  16. We have not been to that restaurant for ages but it used to be excellent.  Amazing view and the food was pretty darn good too. Suey
  17. Sorry Nomoss but I am 52 and I found it very very funny.  Nice to have something to laugh about and I have to say the history of the Tower of London certainly sinks in when you are told it like this. Suey
  18. Just copy and paste it onto your Facebook Profile. Suey

    Breast MRI

Coops, I am so pleased and relieved for you.  Brilliant news.  I was surprised that the MRI even found my boobs.  My hubby always offers a route map to the mammographer!! Well done.  Fab news. Sue xx

  22. Thank you.  There is no risk of me doing too much, my hubby has eyes in the back of his head and when I first came out of hospital he even had one of our french friends coming up to sit with me so that I could not do anything while he was out!  Also my body tells me when I have done too much. Suey xx
  23. Well the op went well.  Lovely hospital, CHAM at Rang du Fliers, Pas de Calais.  Superb nursing and the consultant visited me every day (he being the Chief of Gynaecology).  Have been home for two weeks and am much much better, walking the dogs (the old boy of ten is about my pace at the moment).  Still have two more dissolvable stitches to dissolve!!  Am going for post op appointment on Wednesday, so hope all will be okay.  Just need to talk to him about my options re: breast cancer and what his feelings are re surgery. Thanks all for your kind words, what would we do without our forum. Suey xxx
  24. Hope all goes well Bertiebe.  Good luck with all your surgery and treatments.  The french health system, for me, has been superb. Take care Suey
