1. Thanks for that, I can now tell the client that he's wasting his money and to start using cheaper chlore gallettes. Thanks again.
2. Any chem experts care to explain how this works? It's advertised as chlorine enriched with active oxygen (hydrogen persulphate) I personally don't think that's possible as peroxide has always killed chlorine in my experience. Anyone? http://www.point-piscine.com/index.php/chlore-ovytwin.html
3. As the closing strap has absolutely nothing to do with the safety aspect of your cover you can do whatever you like. The easiest method is to tie the two ends together.
4.
We have just been through the process of re-registering our Landrover Discovery here in France.  I must admit it was something we had been dreading and putting off for as long as we possibly could.  But for anyone out there who needs to register their vehicle and is dreading it as much as we were I felt compelled to let them know that it was (for us, anyway) in fact EASY to do.  From beginning to end (ie actually having the new number plates on the car) the whole process took exactly 1 week!! and this included obtaining a certificate of conformity from the DRIRE database.
What did you do about changing the UK headlights?
5.
My daughter bought one a few weeks ago from Dell.fr, UK keyboard and all software, delivered in 7 days no problems.
Just out of interest how did she specify the UK keyboard etc? There doesn't appear to be an option for this on dell.fr
6.
Phone this number: Isha Singhal Sr Sales Expert DHS CONSUMER SALES 0870-907-5128 extn.74206 Fax-0870-353-1312 [email protected] Bought a lappy last year through her and almost another this year. Excellent service. Better than the sales plebs under her who know nothing.
I e-mailed Isha at 21:47 last night, at 21:52 I received a reply from her saying that if I gave her my telephone number she would phone me back, I asked her to phone me at 2pm on Saturday. At exactly 2pm she phoned me and although I declined the French delivery of the £279 Netbook which I thought was a bit pricey (£75) she has arranged for the computer to be sent to my mother in laws address in the UK (£20). I have to say that I was very impressed with her, she is friendly, helpful and knowledgeable, thanks for the recommendation.

8. I know several forum members have bought UK computers from Dell in the past, in fact I did it myself a few years ago. However, has anyone done it recently? I have tried ringing the dreadful, India based order line and they are telling me I need a UK address to buy a Dell with UK keyboard etc.
9. Do your friends think their debts should be written off just because they have run away from them?
10. I have a micro-entreprise and I generate all of my income from June to December. Over the past 4 years I have dutifully paid my cotisations during the period of the year when I am not working but someone recently told me it would benefit me to de-register from 1st January to 31st May. Does anyone have experience of doing this? Thanks in advance Steve
11. Should be simple to correct. In OE click TOOLS - OPTION - CONNECTION then UNTICK hang up after sending and receiving. Steve
12. So do you have your French address on your UK licence? I didn't know that was possible. Steve
13. Fair point, but there must still be people using a UK licence with an invalid address. My question related to these people. Steve
14. If you have a UK licence and live in France, what address does it show? If you no longer own the UK property surely you are committing an offence. Steve
15. Hi Donna, It's not a big problem. Firstly turn off the pump, then move the filter main distribution valve from [FILTER] to [WASTE]. Turn on pump and monitor the water level down to your mark. Turn off pump and move distribution valve back to [FILTER] and turn on pump. By the way as you are topping up your pool I presume you must be in a department that doesn't have water restrictions :>)
16. Thanks Ian, This is not a normal situation in the Pyrenees Orientales, the first time in 7 years that I have lived here, and most people can't remember the last time it happened. I guess common sense should prevail, I just hope the local Mairie and gendarmes agree.
17. Thanks for that. I think that answers my question. Obviously everybody just ignored the restrictions.
18. Just heard on the radio that the filling of pools is not allowed from today in the PO (66). There is also a ban on watering grass and gardens between 08:00 and 21:00. I know that other departments have lived with the pool filling problem in the past but as it's new to us here is there any advice out there regarding what to do when the skimmers have to be turned off.
19. Poolguy Wrote "Moreover, in each and every pool I have rennovated and upgraded the filtration and santisation system the result has been water so clear that you can read the date on a 10 cent coin sitting on the bottom nearly 2 meters away.. It has to be that clear or your not doing enough in my opinion. But its your health and that of your children you are messing with." I have just had my eyes tested and have new glasses but I can't read the date on a 10 cent coin from 2 meters away in air, let alone water! Should I take them back?
20. Are there any squash players living within a reasonable distance of Grand Stade de Cappellans at St Cyprien (near Perpignan) who are interested in regular games. Steve

Turf

It's called gazon en plaque and it's available at several garden centres local to me (66) but I'm sure it's widely available in the rest of France. Steve
