  1. Thanks very much for the info Gill, will pass this on to my friends. Bye for now
  2. Friends of mine are considering having storage heaters installed in what is quite a large house. Has anyone had similar work carried out, who could give recommendations please?? Thanks
  3. Same thing happening with us, when renewal of contract is near, seem to get enquiries etc., but no bookings afterwards!  Not holiday rentals though, another company!
  4. Sorry, but to say that French people are rude and boring, I really can't agree.  We have met quite a few French people since living here (almost 2 yrs now), and have found them to be nothing but nice, polite etc.  The people we have had problems with are British people, some can be terrible (and please note, I said 'some'), as can any nationality.  I think the worst people we have ever met for being rude and boring have to be first the Germans, and then second the Japanese!  And again, perhaps we have just met awful people of these two nationalities, but to be quite honest, you will find rude and boring people of every nationality everywhere!
  5. We know exactly how you feel.  We have been here almost 2 yrs now., and moved for a variety of reasons.  Job dissatisfaction, change/speed of lifestyle etc.  We knew before moving that my husband's mum was extremely ill, and his father is also in his 80's and not 100%.  When we found out how ill mum in law was we said we were not going to move after all, but with her encouragement etc., we did move.  It was an extremely difficult decision and one we didn't make without a great deal of thought, so its not easy, but really you do have to do what you feel is right for yourselves also. Good luck!!
  6. Have given my French friends : Mince Pies (none left after a couple of mins), took a few mins to ask what they were, then that was it! Pumpkin Chutney (Breton neighbour) a member of La Chasse thought it was great with all his meals etc. Victoria Sponge (nothing similar in the supermarkets our neighbours say).
  7. Well said Wen.  I have a relative who is buried in a Cemetery in Borre nr to Hazebrouck.  It also has many Canadians there. It is only a very small pretty village, but a very well kept cemetery last time I visited. I don't see that things such as this should ever be forgotten!
  8. Is there anyone (13-14 yrs old) who would like to perhaps meet up at my house and theirs to watch dvd's, go to swimming pools etc., either French or English. I have quite a few French friends, but they all live quite a way from my house. I live in Dept 22., close to Gouarec, and would love to hear from anyone who wants to get in touch. I am nearly 14, and my name is Emily. My mum and dad are helping me to look after any replies, so genuine replies only please!!!! Emily Flynn usfive
  9.   Hi John, My husband flies model gliders also.  If you have any more links which you can post to help him find anything out, that would be great.  We once lived in Weston Super Mare, and he used to fly a lot around there, but has not flown since moving here over a year ago now.  We are in Dept 22. Thanks
  10. Hi everyone, I want to buy an Adult Tricycle.  Not for any medical reason, other than I am absolutely hopeless at balancing on an ordinary bike, and plus I quite like the idea of something different from everyone else. If you know someone who may have one for sale, or know of a shop near to you please let me know
  11. Hi everyone, Will be (hopefully) travelling back to Boulogne on the 16th July and require B & B/Guesthouse for the evening.  Does anyone know of a reasonable place for ourselves and two children?  Please let me know asap. Thanks!
