1. Have also signed petition, and once again put back to the top. Lets keep it going this is just soooooo outrageous, however no shock really considering the British Government!!!!!
2. One of my friends goes to French lessons and her Tutor charges €20per hour however that is for upto 4 people. so if you get a group of you it only works out at €5 per head per hour.
3. Cooperlola, Yes I do realise that trying to get anything near Le Mans is like gold dust at that time of year, especially as we used to live not too far away from the circuit! Unfortunately we should have completed on our barn puchase before now and have been in the middle of the renovaton and therefore could have moved into there even if we only had one room finished, however it is taking longer than anyone thought to get the CU approval. Thank you for the link to property in Domfront unfortunately it is a bit too far away however it is something that we can think about if nothing else turns up.
4. Hello Sue, Thanks for that suggestion and it maybe that is what will have to do however as we are going to be overseeing our renovation we would prefer to be settled in one place even if not for our benefit for the benefit of our older dog!  We do know this area extremely well anyway as we have lived over here for a few years we are only in this position because our property here sold in 3weeks and we had to rent as we had not found anything to purchase in the time between compromis and completion.
5. Zeb, Yes have tried them however unfortunately they don't seem to have anything for the period of time we are looking for! Even if properties are not entirely booked for that period all the ones I have seen so far have a least a week or two booked up somewhere in the middle of the period we need. Just hoping that there may be someone that hasn't let their property for some reason and would rather let it to us for a few months rather than let it stand empty!
6. Has no one got anything suitable or know anything suitable? Please! Am getting worried now as only a month or so to go. Thanks in advance for any help anyone can give us
7. Didn't replace Freddie! As if they could. It was their live concert from 1985 thats why I said "Brings back some good memories"
8. Just watching Queen on ITV3 there are some advantages of having sky tv! One of the Worlds Best Rock Groups absolutely fantastic brings loads of good memories back.
9. Have to agree with Cooperlola for my first 2 choices. Le Mans, just love it especially the wonderful market on Sunday morning it's fantastic to have a coffee and just people watch as well as getting loads of lovely fresh food. Also St Suzanne just 6km from our New Place (thats if it all goes through ok) The other one for me is Oradour-sur-Glane made me feel very humble.
10. Rental property required from Jun10-13th for 2&1/2-4months. We are looking for a property with at least 2 bedrooms and will allow a well behaved 9yr old dog. Preferred areas are St Suzanne, Le Mans, Mayenne, Gorron, Ernee, or surrounding areas to these Towns. If anyone knows of anything please be kind enough to let me know. Thanks
11. Now I will have to get on and make some this week as I'm starting to drool(not a good look I can tell you!)[;-)], have to agree a great tip from Lori. Enjoy the rest Clair you lucky thing! can just imagine the smell in your kitchen of warm muffins just wish I lived closer because I would definately be there.[:)]
12. So all round to Clairs' then!![:D]
13. Have to agree with Panda & Will, as €19000 per annum income is significantly higher than the average of my commune and even after deducting the amount specified for rent it still higher than the average income here. I am astounded that there is even a perception that CAF should help.
14. Darren,Vicky and Amelia, Have to agree with you Labyrinth is brilliant although another one I have thoroughly enjoyed is:  The Time Traveler's Wife by Audrey Niffenegger.
15. Hi, Can recommend the following company they moved us from Daventry,Northants to Loire Valley a couple of years ago and even though they had to go from Cardiff (my home town, which is how I know about them)to Daventry to collect all our stuff prior to bringing it over to France they were loads cheaper than any other company including the local ones. Masons Moving Group Ltd Storage House, Priority Enterprise Park Barry CF63 2BG South Glamorgan Tel: 01446 733330 Fax: 01446 733827 Hopefully they can help, good luck with the move.
16. I heard about the Avon spray working for bites last year, so went ahead and bought some however I must be the exception to the rule as it had absolutely no effect on me I was bitten as much as I had prior to using it. The only thing I have found to work with me is a product called Mosquito Milk in a rollerball type applicator. Would try the sellotape however as I get bitten so much I would have to totally wrap myself in sellotape and I don't fancy having to try and get it off in certain places![:-))]
17. Thanks Danny, Tried the pcinspector and it worked gosh am I pleased no need to tell hubby when he gets back from UK now. Yippee!!!!
18. Hope someone can help. I am not too bad understanding my computer however!! I had files in my documents on my hard drive and transferred them to CD unfortunately somehow I have deleted them from the CD and they are no longer on my hard drive is there anyway I can retrieve them? I have tried system restore in the hope that would bring them back onto the hard drive but that has not worked. My recycle bin is empty so nothing to restore from there! Any advice would be gratefully received if hubby finds out all these files are gone, boy am I in trouble!! Thanks
19. Oh! Please stop talking about B&J ice cream. I love the Cookie Dough one, but since moving here(Loire Valley) haven't been able to find it anywhere. Have to agree with the dry bread, drizzled with olive oil, tomatoes and cheese on top then toasted however I add one extra ingredient-L&P Worcestershire sauce yum! yum! Have a good week peeps!
20.
Unfortunately many notaires are slow, inefficient, or just like hanging on to clients' money so they can get the interest. So do make sure you ask for the proceeds to be released as quickly as possible, and get the notaire's agreement to do this, preferably in writing.
Will, Thanks for that advice. We certainly know what you mean about Notaires being slow and keeping money so they can get the interest. When we bought this place the Notaires fees were cheaper than first estimated however it took them 6ths to reimburse us. Regards Flossie
21. Hi, We have sold our property and we are due to sign the Acte Authentique before 10th Sept, just waiting for SAFER. Can anyone tell me when will the Notaire release the funds to us and how? Would be helpful to know as we are currently looking for somewhere else to buy, will initially have to rent as we were not prepared. Didn't expect it to sell so quickly it only took 3weeks which obviously is great but has meant a lot of panic. Thanks flossie
22. Fiona, We also had numerous problems with our house after we moved in. Including with the electrics being ripped out in the kitchen and one of the bedrooms(the agents apparently caught the previous owner doing it) but they failed to inform us until after we had signed. Also there was no earth and when EDF came to do the reading and re-connection they were horrified and told us not to use anything until we had had an electrican out to firstly put an earth rod in and make sure the electrics were safe. When we questioned the agents we were basically told we had bought an old house and it was bought as seen and we should expect problems. The thing was we befriend one of the employees of the agency and felt that we couldn't cause too much of a stink as we were worried she would lose her job (her boss was a right stinker!!). Also the previous owner had no money left from the sale as he had had numerous debts to pay off, so there was no point in trying to sue him!!! It has cost us a fortune to sort out the problems we have had so know just how you feel. Hopefully someone on here will be able to give you some sound advice to what you could do. In the meantime, keep your chin up and I hope everything works out for you.
23. Hi everyone, I have been reading this with interest as would love to have wind generator (have 4 hectares to put it on) to supply our electric and solar power to help that. However does anyone know of a company that fits these type of renewable sources and what type of price we would be lookiing at? We are only starting oour renovation so now is the time to be looking at this. We are in the south of the Sarthe dept so companies near to us or that are willing to travel. Also I assume we would have to get our Mairies permission to have it installed, can anyone clarify this please?   Thanks for your help.
