1. The pipes look small (an expert speaks) - I would say 14mm at most. The shower, as the crow flys is about 10 feet above the hot water tank but probably triple that in pipe terms. I'm guessing the options are the pump route - with the not being able to attach it to the mains caveat.....or replace all the thin pipework with something a little more robust.
2. The hot water comes out of a massive Wiesmann boiler not a combi.....my other concern is that, as we don't have a  cold water tank, how do we fit a pump as elsewhere on the interweb I have read that the cold water bit (sic) of the pump shoul NOT be connected direct to the mains....
3. I assume then, that if it is attached to the hot and cold feeds before they hit the upstairs floors it will pump water to all the baths and showers upstairs......which would be nice. I guess the next question is roughly how much would I be looking at for parts and fitting....and how long would it take - it doesn't sound like something that should decomission the house water supply for days on end.
4. Does the pump have to be in the same room - the hot and cold pipes are accessible from the utility room downstairs - forgive my ignorance but presumably it attaches to them somehow [8-)]
5. I don't think it's a crimped pipe because we had the same issue before doing this bathroom - turning on any cold tap downstairs reduced the old shower (in a different bathroom) to a trickle - the pressure out of the outside tap is good enough to clean dried paint off a plastic paint tray
6. *Steps carefully into forum with dictionary and thesaurus primed* Hi, Our en suite bathromm is finally finished but the water pressure out of the (admittedly large) shower head is somewhat disappointing. Pressure coming into the house is, I think, 3 bar (does that sound right ?) and I have had one plumber say that the pipework taking the hot and cold water feed upstairs is too narrow thus causing the problem. Does this a) sound like a likely explanation and b) can the problem be ameliorated (*packs away well thumbed thesaurus*) with some kind of pump gubbins - I have tried to persuade the good lady wife that the current setup is akin to a tropical rain forest shower but sadly she hails from a land where the water from shower heads can effectively be used for trepanning. Thank you all for your kind indulgence.
7. There is another director who is remaining in the UK. We are still looking for a suitable accountant over here, by suitable I mean one who doesn't want to sell me a pension or one who doesn't charge €300 per hour who estimated the advice I need would take five hours to proffer [8-)]
8. Forgive me if this has been covered elsewhere I've searched but cannot see an answer. As a director of a UK limited company who is resident in France would I have to pay any cotisations on dividends earned from said company (I take no salary) ? Presumably these dividends would also have to be declared on my french tax return ? cheers !
9. Can anyone recommend a good accountant who would be able to handle the books of a startup limited company in the UK and advise on the best company structure with respect to tax / cotisations for directors living and working in France for aforementioned company.... also to do UK tax returns (if appropriate). I don't want to go to one of the big firms - I'd rather have a recommendation if possible.....cheers
10. It may be too complicated but if youhave a First Direct / HSBC account in the UK and an HSBC account here in France there is a flat fee of £10 to transfer any amount you want - that's the way we do it anyway......
11. Thanks all for the sage if somewhat complicated advice..... My solution is to buy enormous tiles thereby reducing the surface area under which water can seep.... I am banking on the green plasterboard doing the job for at least a few years at which point the good lady wife will decide the en suite needs a complete redesign anyway.....
12. The never ending saga of the en suite bathroom goes on apace..... the whole room is now boarded ou tin green plasterbboard including a large shower cubicle area. Today the deep joy of tape jointing the boards comences. subsequent to this my plan was to skim the whole room BUT should I skim over the boards in the shower cubicle area or should I leave them green and au naturel (bar the tape jointing) and tile over that surface - my innate feeling is that the board is going to be a smoother surface than my skimmed effort on which to tile.......???
13. It was all correctly connected but bizarrely Club Internet rang me today and said F.Telecom had been working on the line and that my WiFi should now work.......hmmmmm I thought Reconnected everything and Robert est votre oncle..... thanks anyway !
14. I have recently switched to club internet but cannot use their shiny wifi router thingy (see piccy below) because when I plug it in it fails to find the telephone line (or whatever it's looking for).....the green ADSL light flashes a few times and then the Orange 'Alarme' light comes on. It's not the box as I've tried three of them now and I can connect fine at 7.2MB with my crappy old wirefull (or whatever the opposite of wireless is) modem...anyone any ideas ?? 15. Lokking to use camelia for a, not particularly long, about four foor high (ultimately) hedgeIs this a good idea ? The foliage kind of reminds me of laurel but I'm worried about the effect of hedge trimmers....
16. I have literally just been out to order it - I paid €6.41 / metre or €19.25 / sheet - it's probably a bit expensive but they can deliver tomorrow morning for free. I don't really know what the going price is
17. Thought as much, I'm just trying to be a flint de skin (as the french say)
18. Hi there (again) After the resoundingly good advice I received re shower tray I have another question The en suite in question is about 2m x 4m with the shower area up one end - all four walls and ceiling will be plasterboard, tape jointed and plastered then painted with bathroom style paint or tiled around the shower. Do I need to use the green plasterboard for the whole bathroom or just the shower area  / adjoinijng walls / ceiling ??? cheers, K

20. Thanks all for the useful advice - where can I purchase this über cheap giant shower tray - the young feller me lad pictured below is from Lapeyre 120x80 but comes in at €220
21. Forgive me if I'm being an idiot but would the membrane go under the boards (ie above the level of the floor) or over the area of floor covered by the frighteningly shoddy hand fashioned shower tray
22. The wife, in her infinite glory and wisdom, wants a huge walk in shower in the en-suite (for en-suite, read cold empty pit of doom) As I cannot find or afford a shower tray of the prerequisite size - ie  c. 1m x 1.50m - my intention was to construct something. The plan was to make a wooden frame for the base fixed securely to the wooden floor and two stone walls (ie in the corner) such that the plumbing gubbins can go underneath, cover it with those water resistant panel thingies and then tile over it. Is this likely to work or is the probability that I will get some movement on the wooden floor and thus leakage ?? Is there a more sensible way round this ????? [:D]

24. Your ISP may be shaping bandwidth to prevent P2P - I have the sane issue with ClubInternet.....
25. No, it looks like it has ben processed in some way - ie not a shape usually associated with a sentient being (for want of a better description, a small railway tunnel) The label says - 'Bloc de foie gras de canard de sud ouest avec morceaux' or words to that effect. The monbazillac is already chilling....as is half a bottle of sauternes for emergencies
