1. I would recommend ebay.co.uk We bought a stove off ebay and have no complaints.  You would need to sort out whether you transport them to the UK and sell them from the UK (probably get a higher price and if you bring over a couple of stoves at a time, you spread the cost) or sell them from France with a transportation option/cost to deliver to the UK. Not sure what tax the buyer would be hit with this way!  Good Luck!
2.
And did anyone see that way way left left-winger Vanessa Redgrave trying to justify this attack on innocent children? She was on Sky News and made me sick to my stomach! Martyn
I think what Vanessa Redgrave said was 'please do not judge all Chechens by what we have just seen' This is difficult to do seeing everything unfold so graphically. This is not meant to diminish the awful events off the past couple of days, which are just incomprehensible and very depressing !This needs to be seen as a repercussion of Russian politics and not linked to Iraq/Palestine etc and will carry on till Russia deals with it. (the Black widows and the two aircraft  on Tuesday and the school today....where will this end???)There were a number of women among the hostage takers. 70% of women in Chechnya have lost a close male relative!!!  I would like to re-iterate that I am absolutley NOT supporting violence as a means to publicise your situation, however when you are born into war, grow up in a war situation - you perhaps have a reduced value of life???  It is difficult for most of us to imagine how people live in large parts of the world when our main worry is whether our Fosse Septique will overflow or whether our tax bill will 'blow us away' or any other daily worry.
3. We have had a 'Bee' problem as well. We returned to the house after 6 weeks and had loads of dead bees and even more live ones! In our area, the pompier does not deal with the bees anymore...apparently they have outsourced the 'bee dept' and we were given a number to call.Needless to say we left a number of messages which were never returned, so we have had to find our own 'bee man'. Good Luck with the bees!
4. Hi, We have just bought around Nontron. The agency we bought through was situated on the main street in Nontron (top end) called Orpi. There two chaps called Francis and Bjorn who ran the Sales. In our experience, both were very good, spoke good english and had a lot of local knowledge which was useful - in finding out more about the property such as clear titles, sellers personal situation ie how keen were they to sell etc. Their website is not brilliant though. We also used agents in in Piegut who were very helpful and had lots of lovely properties. Their websitte is a bit better than Orpi's. In my view, browsing websites is really not very useful unless you intend to folllow it up with a visit as soon as you see something you like. There are very nice properties that never make the websites of a lot of the local agents. The websites do not describe the dumping ground at the end of the lane nor the fact that the toilet is accessed via the kitchen etc. I have had a lot of fun looking through various websites dreaming about what I would like and it helped me get a realistic view of the prices etc (though the 'well' priced properties tend to get sold before they get to the web!) Good Luck - we love the area.
5. Have you tried the market at Brantome? There is a stall there that sells all manner of spices, garam masala etc.
