What was the outcome of the vets - did you find an "accommodating vet" or did you find one open on a Sunday.  I only ask as we are going to the Vienne region between Civray and Couhe for Christmas.   We have two dogs and we're travelling back at 6.30pm on Monday 29th December.  There are no local vets open after 6.30pm on the Saturday and we can't find one open on the Sunday - but we have been told by a reliable source that a nearby vet will jimmy the times - to make them valid for our return. Travelling on a Monday is a awkward and of course at this time of year there are bank holidays etc. too. 

Just to let anyone who may be interested (especially if they are going to the Vienne area).  We managed to get an 8am appointment with the vet in Couhe so that we were within the 24hours for the tick and tapeworm and were able to take our 8.30am crossing on the 3rd.

Thank you very much for this - we will have to take a later crossing I think, but at least we can be prepared now. 

    This question has probably been asked before (and I apologise if this is the case) but we are going over to France for Christmas and New Year with my dog and my sister's dog.  She is always nervous about going over with her dog as on one occasion he had to be left behind  in France for 7 months as her paperwork was not correct.  He stayed with my parents (not in a kennels) luckily.  Anyway, because of this experience we want to be sure that we have crossed every t and dotted every i. Due to the New Year holiday we are returning on 3rd January at 8.30am in the morning, so in order to get to the vets 24 hours before, we would have to be there before it opens.  Do you think that an hour or two under the 24 hours will make a difference.  Alternatively we could get a later train I suppose. Hoping someone has had a similar experience and can shine some light. Many thanks

Thanks Baz for your reply.  I realised afterwards that I was a bit confused about what was free to view and what was not.  I will tell them that the best thing for them to do is  get another card, and they can use my UK address. Again many thanks.    

Hello, I don't know if anyone can help on this issue, and I apologise if this request duplicates any other on the site.    My parents who are living in France have a sky card and up until a few months ago everything was fine, they could view all channels, then after an interruption in power due to a thunderstorm, they lost channels 3, 4 and 5.  They still have ITV 2 and 3 and all the other free to air channels but not 3, 4 and 5.  I was just wondering if anyone else had experienced this and whether it is rectifiable without purchasing a new card or digibox. Any suggestions gratefully received. Julie
