1.

After having a read at part of that, I think he fancies her [I] In fact I'm sure he does, especially if he works on my principle that I only ever insult people that I like [:-))]
Jonz, I LOVE your theory.........but do you think the reclusive Mr May may have something to say about that? Clearly, he is a foot fetishist, as I read that he advises her on all her wardrobe choices[:-))] Or, how about he is into robots in a huge way? What do you think, Jonz?
A Foot fetishest? That really is kinky! He died in 2010 so no wonder the wardrobe is so good?
 2. After having a read at part of that, I think he fancies her [I] In fact I'm sure he does, especially if he works on my principle that I only ever insult people that I like [:-))]
 3. Do I hear the slight note of a whig there Norman? The general opinion that I heard that you could tell when a politician was telling porkies and not down to their badge colour? Anyway, as I have asked on another forum. Was it May called by June or June called by May [8-)] And on this side of the cut, will Le Pen turn out to be mightier than the sword [:-))]
 4. Just as a matter if interest, did you know thta an incandescing light bulb is most likely to fail the instant you switch it on. That is because when it is first switched on the current is highest due to the fact that the tiny coils that make up the filiment have not had the time to produce a back EMF caused by the coil windings. This is due to the changing magnetic field caused by the AC, alternating current. The back EMF produces a current in opposition to the AC power source and restricts the primary current. But that is only the case when the primary power is AC and is caused by the continous rise and fall of the voltage and therefore current provided. Lenz's Law come into that. If it is a DC,  direct current, then there is no back EMF produced because there is no change in the current and therefore no change in the magnetic field in the coils. A bit rusty I know, but I was in my teens when I learned that lot [:-))] and bow to any corrections [blink] As a totally different asside Richard, I prefer Ricard to 51. A much nicer taste [8-|]
 5. Not silly at all. Can you even try to imagine planting lamps because you thought they should be bulbs and wonder why your daffodillies aren't growing[:-))] And pluging a daffodillie bulb in yer lamp could blow a fuse init [geek] It's very important to know the difference after all Richard. A sense of humour helps too dunit [:D] And before anyone takes umbridge to this then just stick yer tounge in yer cheek like wot I did [blink]
 6. You must be a multi billionaire Richard? (Why does that sound familiar [6]) if you can call free bulbes a silly topic? [:-))] And,  for one, I hadn't heard the comment before, so not wasted here init [blink]
 7. Well, I put bulbes in all of our lamps and I ain't not had one sprout yet [:-))] We also have bed side lamps, not bed side light fittings [8-|] and what do you call a standard lamp? A standard light fitting peut etre [8-)] You can tell him that a lamp is usually a stand alone bit-a-kit and a light fitting is what I would call something that sticks out of the ceiling/wall jobbie [kiss]
 8. That offer is still open and I had an email just now. 5 = free, 15 for 1€ Have a gander
 9.

"See Garden Girl's link, they are one and the same.."
A caravan it ain't. I think you will find This is a static restaurant, all be it in a basement,  ChezGil @ 32 Route Minervoise, 11000 Carcassonne, France. From TripAdvisor: 'An intimate fish and seafood restaurant tucked away in the basement close to the railway station but off the beaten track. The most delightful fresh fish and seafood cooked by the chef within view of the restaurant. Reasonable prices an absolute delight'
Cajal, we know Chez Gil well and it is owned by the nephew of a friend and neighbour of ours. We have had numerous lunches there with the village Association de Ancient Combattents, of which I am a member, and the village 3rd age club, of which we are both members and the food and service are both excelent. We have also eaten there of our own choice. They have a well deserved reputation. But the mobile F&C waggon that GG is on about is definately British owned and very mobile. This is a quote from the 1st para of their "About us' web page " About usCC Fish & Chips (Chris & Clare) are serving traditional fish & chips in the Languedoc region. Our regular venues cover an area roughly from Quillan to Olonzac to Mirepoix although we do venture further afield." Have a look at the site, and read it... http://www.ccfishandchips.com/About-Us.html Edit : -  On your trip advisor site it mentions that you can watch the food being prepared. This is the kitchen and the bossman facing and his partner in the white blouse. I took the photo at one of the 3rd age lunches. 10.

There is a very popular F&C van just south of us and a large part of the customers seem to be French. It's been going for several years now, but I can't find it and wonder if they are atill there?
This would appear to be in your 'neck' of the woods.
See Garden Girl's link, they are one and the same.. They have a round and about once a month they appear at Periac Minervois (I think) and you email them with your order and time and it's all fresh and ready for you from what I have been told. They will also appear at yer party if you wish and very good luck to them..

 13. We were in a Devises having lunch in a Wadworth pub, within site of the brewery. We got in conversation with the couple sitting at the same table. In fact they asked if we would like to share the table as there were no others available. It turned out that they live up in the Pyrenees about an hour from Perpignon !! He has been brewing English beer, IPA being one, since they have lived there and he sells it mainly to the French locals. He also brews his own cider. Coincidence or what!! If I have got it correct then this is their web site.
 14. No problems GG. I'm so small and unnoticable that I just get used to being overlooked, but after I have had a quiet few minutes in my corner I recover [:(] It's so difficult being perfect [8-)] and I daren't fall asleep in case I get overlooked agian. I even get picked on by card machines! We had a lovely meal in a pub in Corsham this evening. I paid by card, the correct amount was shown on the hand held machine and when I got the reciept the ammount was refused and they said that we hadn't got the £511,041.96p to cover the bill. I thought that it was a bit excessive, but even Butcombe bitter is expensive these days. I am not kidding, that was the actual amount shown, but it was a nice meal. Edit : - Now I come to think of it, there was a rugby team in at the same time as us and perhaps they were adding their bill to ours? I think that they were rugby because they laughed when I asked how they were doing in the local cricket league and theyw ere all in stripey shirts?

The spannish I think resent the hell out of the english on so many levels......... as a spannish friend in France said........ your pirates stole all our gold........ now this goes back rather a long way....... and yet is obviously 'remembered'. Frankly, the people of Gibraltar have to decide and we should stick by them, as we should with the Falkland Islanders. War, well it was Michael Howard who said that, an old bloke not in main stream politics any more..... that the journalists actually interviewed him about this is just journalists being numpties as far as I am concerned.
I think that the Spanyards have good right to resent the fact that we stole the gold that they had just stolen from the S Americans. I mean to say!!! There is a limit init! But as far as N Korea is concerned there are no worries. That lovely Mr Duck, the Donald one, is meeting that so understanding Chinese Mr Oi, or what ever that long name is, boss man and using all of his diplomatic skills should soon have everything ironed out and WW3 started [:-))] I can't really think of anyone I would rather see on the other side of the world from all of the world leaders than that Donald Duck idiot! He has all the finness of a train crash! I think that even his own 'trick-cyclists' are worried to hell at what he's gong to quack (most people tweet) next? 18.
How do you know it is a girlie, JJ?
Because I married her Wooly [8-|] And that just goes to prove that I have a much better sense of judgment and taste than she [:-))] The proof being that I chose her and she chose me [8-|] Football Richard! 19. I have the same problem at times but with my dishwasher. I just give her a slap, or 2, and she gets on with it again. Power cuts don't really seem to have any effect though? [blink]
 20. Yonner, are they properly Sireted or are they working 'on the black'?
 21. As far as con men and gypsys are concerned this link may help. There's lots more info on the subject if you do a search on "tramp or gypsy signs" http://www.annmarieackermann.com/tramp-signs/ it should slow some down if you say there's a copper lives/owns the place. I first found out about the signs via our Vosins Vigilants groupe. That's something else to join if you can. It's modled directly off the Neighbourhood Watch in the U.K. Ours is very active and when we go away I put a notice on there and everyone in the groupe keeps an eye on the house. We also have get togethers occasionally and people who have been neighbours get to meet each other. It's a fantastic idea and the French are catching up at last.
 22. Isn't that the bouilloire calling the théière noire[:-))]
 23. If all else fails a flask of boiling water would do the job.
 24. I have to replace the tyres on our trailer. They are 13 yaers old, not worn, just old. Has anyone any idea of the best/cheapest way of sourcing and getting them fitted please? The size on them is 5.20 x 5.00 x 10 ULT.
