  1. Aren't we STARS! I do feel sorry for you Jan.  I can't imagine why you are not losing weight.  Courage!  It will all drop off one day even if I have to come down and saw a leg off you....[:D] I've got the shorts on.  They fit better than last year....[:D][:D]
  2. 300g lost this week.  I am actually starting to feel thinner.  The elasticated waists aren't so tight[;-)]  I think my clothes were stretched to the limit though! It is a glorious day here so my shorts are coming out....Quick!  Quick!  Want to lose another stone by 10.00am[:)] Hope you have all done well.
  3. Just goes to show...I would have described both Cabinet d'Anjou and Coteaux de Layon as sweet.  Not in the Sauterne/Montbazilliac  catagory but sweet. Not that I don't like them you understand. For our honeymoon we had a mini-tour of the Loire valley caves...I mean tour of the chateaux. Mind, I don't grimace when I drink my Muscadet now so I must be getting drier taste buds.
  4. This is very true...we would just like a little bit less of us to love[:D]   I am back on the right track.  I expect to be either the same weight as last week or a bit above.  I really hope to be less!  This does not tell the true story, as usual, as I went up like a rocket over the chocathon called Easter. I did actually chuck the truffles I made out.  I know.  I know.  I ate the little egg though.  I work on the once it's gone it's gone and can't be shouting "eat me!" all day. Where is our little angel icon?
  5. I booked the other day with Speedferries for the middle of May. 56€ return, two people and the car. Excellent. I seem to think I got a good price when I went with P.O. in February but I arrived early - story of my life - and they wanted an absolute fortune to change the crossing time.  Same happened when I arrived for the return voyage...I booked in about two hours early and the person on duty asked if I wanted to go earlier for thirty quid!  Yet the 'middle' sailing I took was the same price as I had paid so I took that. I think they were 'avin a laff. Hoverspeed charged 10€ when I arrived unannounced after my Dad had left the hospital early and I drove up three days in advance on the off chance.  Which is fair enough.
  6. Humph!  With reference to above...up 200g. Serves me right.  There are still a lot left so it is either the bin or my tum which will be bigger this time next week.[:D] I shouldn't have made them knowing OH was off chocolate. I won't eat the little egg I bought.  I will save it for a rainy day. I am strong.  My body is a temple.[;-)]
  7. This weeks helpfull hint is don't watch Bon Appetit Bien Sûr when the guest chef is making chocolates for Easter!! I must say, they are all very delicious though!  And it is Easter[:)]
  8. Two boiled eggs for breakfast. Lunch, when I was visiting the hospital was a container of lettuce, five tomato appero cut in half and sometimes half a shallot with 30g of this low calorie dressing.  With it I would have either boiled ham or cold roast chicken.  An orange. On a night, I would have a cup of coffee when I got in and I often didn't fancy anything afterwards but this week I had cold chicken one night, onion soup (homemade) two nights, piece of salmon another...  With an orange.  I am having a real craze on oranges at the moment. After drinking coffee in a morning with cream in it, I found it very hard to go back to milk or even low-fat cream so I am back on the calorie laden stuff.  I eat a Ricola sweetie when I fancy one.  I eat anything I fancy actually but for some reason, I haven't been tempted. All of the above is what I had on Atkins without the mayo and reducing the créme fraîche if I do salmon like that.  I bought a pack of little 12.5g butters on Monday and I had half of one yesterday on some haricot and the other half this morning on my slice of toast. Anyway, I have had OH in hospital for eight of these weeks so that helps.  Then he doesn't fancy anything at the moment so I'm not tempted.  Must take care not to hoover up what he goes 'bleugh' to though[:)]  If I had to cook roast potatoes or Yorkshire pudding, I wouldn't be able to resist.  Good job he is French and not used to such food of the Gods! I was cross I hadn't gone onto calorie counting before now but I think I needed the time on Atkins to get me used to eating differently.  IF I go on a diet again ha ha ha, I will certainly start off with Atkins.  Won't be so lavish with the mayo though! Don't forget that when he had our pre-Christmas sad attempt at dieting, I lost nothing and put weight on.  Things are just going my way at last!  Touch wood it continues[:)]
  9. Where are you all when I want to brag???? What a week!  I have been on the old calorie counting.  Basically Atkins without the mayo...that is the only difference apart from eating lots of fruit...and I have lost...wait for it... 2.6 kilos! The best result since I started this d***. I am overjoyed.  Surprised certainly!  I still can't believe things are going so well.  Someone, somewhere must have decided that after having had thirty five years of laughing at my feeble attempts to diet, they would give me a chance...then laught at how quickly I put it all back on again. Not on their Nellie.  This time it is staying off. Hope that you have all lost weight too.  You are all certainly looking thinner....[;-)] I'm off to have a slice of toast to celebrate.
  10. Don't get disheartened Girls.  We will all get there in the end. I had put on loads of weight..stopped smoking, stopped work, no doggy to take for walks now...so I was the heaviest I had been since pregnant. Some of you weigh less than what I consider a reasonable weight for me! Chin up!  Chuck out all those baddies and don't allow them in the house - no matter how hard the OH pleads.  My OH went shopping with me the Week of The Chocolate and bought some Bounty's.  I told him he had to hide them or eat them all in one go but did he heck.  I had six!  Could have been eight! Shall we have the week-end off at Easter?  Something to look forward to. Just to say Suze, if I eat carbs (bread - I love bread) now, I feel terrible.  Bloated like a frog.  I wonder why some people react like that?
  11. I don't know where the time goes. So.  Lost a kilo this week so my total for the three months is 9.9kg.  13cm off my waist.  12cm off my hips. I was laid in bed the other night, thinking, as you do...and I thought that if I had eaten so little twenty years ago, I would weigh about six stone.  If you counted up the calories I was under 1000....except for MAYONNAISE all that has stopped now and I have bought a light dressing.  Got to hide the taste of the lettuce somehow and my normal vinaigrette is high in calories too. So, I am on a Atkins influenced calorie diet now.  Well, Atkins without the mayo, really.  We will see how it goes.  Oh.  Eating more fruit. One thing though, I am determined to continue which must be a record.  Just seems so long!  Still, it took thirty odd years to get this fat but with luck, six months to lose it, so I suppose it isn't that bad. Chunter chunter chunter
  12. I would have done a lot better if I hadn't had a bread making day yesterday.  Honestly, I only ate two little bits to compare different recipes..... Can I use yesterday's weight?  No?  Oh, all right then.... So. Minus 400g.  I'm sulking. I'm off to the hospital now but I will check out all the outstanding weight losses tonight.  Will be the first thing I do...after I've fed the cat, of course.[:)]
  13. Walker?  Aren't they crisps? Since when has chicken not been a meat? When I have a ham salad, I class the ham as a meat...what else can you call it?
  14. I like meat.  Maybe it is because you are on a d*** that you are cross! Sometimes I have meat twice a day.  Sometimes three or four times a week.  Whatever, I plan the week.  I like to know what I'm having so it is in the fridge ... ready.  Then temptation is kept at bay. How did you do your salmon?  I sweat off a shallot, add diced salmon - quite big chunks - and once it is nearly cooked, salt, pepper and créme fraîche.  It takes five minutes. "Other" people in the house can have it with pasta without moaning too much[;)]  I always say I will have it with a vegetable but I nearly always don't. I like smarties but I like chocolate buttons much, much more.
  15. Argh!  Don't mention chocolate...you will start us all off again! You will have to make up a menu for the week so you don't eat meat too many times.  I eat quite a lot of fish.  Salmon in créme fraîche is a real favourite and I'm having it for lunch today. Cheese I don't eat...bleaugh. When I am visiting the CHU, I take a salad with me.  Been chicken for the past couple of days but ham, tuna, prawns go down well.  I cook something when I get in...if I can be bothered.  I have been eating up those individual portions from the freezer I couldn't bring myself to throw away. Still not opened a bottle of anything but white wine is one point which is nothing[B]  Except, of course, booze is banned for the first two weeks so go straight to the Naughty Corner. Oh!  It is looking a bit full over there...[:D]
  16. Oh yes, I can vouch for that.  The week I did invigorating walks, I put on a kilo. All muscle. Now I am back to being a big spud, I've lost it.....[;)]
  17. Thank you.  He seems to be doing very well. A hula hoop sounds just the thing.  I had one too.  Bit of washing line and my "gym" will be complete! Don't think I am being good about the booze.  Just not on it at the moment.  It isn't a deadly sin on Atkins so I could have a drink if I fancied.
  18. Now is an ideal time for me to be good as OH is himself away. Last - touch wood - round of his treatment. No, no booze.  Aren't I good[A].  Mind, I drank a whole bottle of muscadet the night he came home after the last hospital stay. I saw folks jigging about on the telly last night.  Is it called steps? It is the Fair of Fitness or something. I could do the same on the kerb edge.  Gosh!  I'm so old.  Who did that?  Elastic skipping too ....ha ha ha!  Mind you, last time I went for healthy walks, I ate chocolate when I got in so maybe not.
  19. Well, my lovely scales shot down again.  According to them, I have lost the chocolate kilos and another 500g.  8.5kg lost. I must have got to the choccie blubber before it had "set"[:)] So.  Let's hope they don't shoot up next week.
  20. I didn't actually get back on to the wagon until Wednesday. (must not use the "D" word!) By then I had gone up another 200g.  So far, in two days - yer, right - I have nearly lost it all. Tra la la la la. I will get weighed tomorrow.  Intend to stop on induction just until the Saturday after next. Ooh.  Aren't you all looking thin[:)]
  21. Agh!  Up one kilo. All chocolate. I'm bloated like one of those frogs who puff their cheeks out. Actually, with all the healthy and invigorating walks, it COULD be muscle.  We all know muscle is heavier than fat.... Yep.  One kilo of muscle this week Girls.  Eat your heart out. [A][A][A][:)]
  22. I agree.  Start over.  Back to Induction[8o|]  I did get on the scales this morning and it was terrible.  Still, I knew it would be and I did cover myself by saying that I would use tomorrow's weight....I'm not daft!  Just need an arm or a leg to drop off sometime today. So.  See you all tomorrow.
  23. Here.  You deserve two. The house will get finished.....then what will you do all day??? We are selling our Château Despair as it will never get done with OH being ill now.  We are in town at my house and it is surprising what needs doing[;)] My usual going out clothes are the ones with the least holes and paint splashes.
  24. Go on.  Rub it in. [:)][:)][:)][:)] Here.  Have an After Eight. . . .
