1. She is almost here. The rains have started, the wind is getting up and I may be gone for a while. Farewell dear amis. I will return one day I hope.
2.
I wonder why you have not chosen to save the hassle and place the property with an agent?, they can deal with choice of info, pics and deal with viewings enquiries etc? I think your website should read more like an Agents ad, than a blog, as for price well you can always go high or middle and accept offers, I've seen the line,''Try an offer, owner keen to sell'' A couple of months ago I placed a building plot with an agent and was told that there was little chance of selling in the current market, but they would put it on their site anyway; todate they have had 4 viewings (while I have been in the UK) and one repeated enquiry which seems to be seriously interested - The format they successfully employ, is a single large photo, (taken on a beautiful day and selected from a half a dozen), a headline giving the name of the village, followed by the area, followed by the price and then a short block of single line info with minimum relevant details, anyone interested would only take a few minutes to read and appraise whether to visit or contact the agent for details or further pics etc, and in many cases (me included) would rather talk to an agent than the owner. See content style below.[Www] Dordogne/Charente borders €33,000 2,000m² with CU & detailed planning in place for single storey 4 bed house with Balcony, Sous-sol, Double Garage, room for pool. More land available, if required
I have the property placed with 3 agents as well. I think that's the way I have to go, that's a good format. I'll move the text I've written to the blog part of my site and put a link to it. I was hoping to get some of this done today, but with Hurricane Irene on its way, I've been trying to prepare for that.
3. Whoops, yes sorry, forgot to do that the other day.
4. Thanks all for your critiques. I shall note them down and begin making changes today. First off will be the slideshow :) AnOther has picked up on a point that I had been thinking of in the back of my mind - too much information. I think I will reduce the amount of info and leave a little mystery to the buyer to try and entice him to come and view. I created the brochure after I created the website, but I think I will try and replicate the brochure onto the website now. The reason I haven't put a price on the brochure is in case it changes and I didn't want many things out there with different prices on. There is a link in the brochure where people can click and it brings them back to the website where the price is. That was my logic in that.
5. I used this board originally to gather info about moving to France and so on and so forth. Now, it's to get the odd tip, try and help someone, come in with the odd quip here and there, but mainly to see how the regular posters are faring and to have the odd laugh. I dare say when I do finally end all ties to my old life in France, I shall still frequent the site. If you'll still have me of course. If not, tell me to do one :)
6. The walls are actually all a neutral biege now, but as I'm in the States, I haven't got any new pictures. I have a download of the house with a floor layout (no measurements) as a download http://www.propertyloirevalley.com//wp-content/uploads/2011/06/propertyloirevalley.pdf It is a small house, only about 90m². For some reason I never took many photos of the outside when I lived there.
7. Anyone Idun. I just want rid now, it's too hard to manage from here. I personally think it compares pricewise with other properties I have seen on websites, but one immobilier is valuing it well down, other immobiliers higher. I'm pretty confused to be honest.
8. I know many of you have clicked through to my house website in my signature, and I'm just after a bit of feedback if I may. What do you think of the property? Do you think its priced well? What would you expect for your money? Any constructive tips gratefully appreciated.
9.

They need to be increasing it, not decreasing it.
I was just wondering if you already have unlimited download how could you increase it? [8-)]
I was meaning increase the bandwidth and thus download speed. I think pretty much everything will be done online within the next 20 years. Tv is already taking up a lot of bandwidth and things like sport will be done by pay per view online in a bid to counter streaming piracy etc. The web will be a very different proposition in 20 years time. It's almost unrecognisable from 15 years ago!
10. Thanks Norm, I hadn't thought of actually making it a term of the lease. I'll look into that.
11. My tenant is moving out in the next month or so and I'm trying to sell my property. Ideally I'd like a new tenant until the property sells. One immobilier has told me that although a new lease for a new tenant must be for 3 years, if I sell my house in that time, the tenant must vacate. Another immobilier has told me the exact opposite. Which one do I believe?
12. I think every joke told is generally at the expense of someone. Even chicken jokes! To me, it's all about the context in which things are said, rather than actual words or joking about nationality. If there's malice, then that's the problem. The above is just banter.
13. It's still nowhere near as good as fried, but it's good enough for the kids :)
14. I mainly use one for defrosting. The kids use it for heating up many things. It does bacon quite well if you can't be bothered frying it.
15. That surprised me too that it was only the 1960's, but then again, that's when Luther King led his revolution. Blacks should have been given equal rights after the civil war after they had enlisted and given their lives to fight for the union. And L'Aiffricaine, you will not be disappointed with the film :)
16. Saw this tonight, absolutely brilliant. Great storyline, and the first time I've ever been at the cinema and the audience gave the movie a round of applause. Deals with race in the early 60's in a Mississippi town. There was this big black woman sitting behind us who was annoying the crap out of me at first as she was one of these women who has to commentate on a movie, but she was hilarious and really fitted in well with what was going on. It may be a bit of a girlie movie, I don't know, there's no special effects or monsters blowing things up, but the storyline is excellent and in my opinion is one of the best movies that has dealt with race. My fiancee read the book last week and said the movie was just as good. Well worth a visit if you can.
17. Sounds like the heatwave we had mid July, it was well over 100F for days and really humod. We're currently having major storms and flash flooding in the north east USA, so beware you may get this in a few weeks time! We got 10" in one day last Sunday and our basement was under 6" of the stuff.
18. I think you done very well there Idun. I see no less than three little innuendos.
19. http://www.youtube.com/embed/zf4IlHaPRUg Looks like a good flick ;)
20.
You can put it in your signature - but no text - Mr C de L will have his wrists slapped [:)]
But that's where all the link juice power comes from :( So it has to be in the format http://www.propertyloirevalley.com ?
21. I wish you could buy my house sweet. You're a dream buyer.
22. Used to have a split system like that when I lived in Australia. Had it running pretty much all the time.
23.
july & august!
Well, if they're not selling anything, how can they afford to go on holiday?
