1.
The cuttings have been left as is and I expect they will rot down over the winter.
The cuttings won't rot down over the winter ... they will just stop the new grass coming through properly and will look unattractive (but you might not care about that if it's not close to your house).  We had this done several years running and it all just looked a mess. As it's a relitively small amount of land, I would recommend you raking it up.  This will allow new grass, and any wildflowers, to grow without hinderence.
2. Could any of you with websites tell me how much you pay for the hosting please? I'd like to create a website, which I'll design myself, for my friends and family  ...... any idea of what I'll need to pay? thanks  [:D]
3. The big DIY stores do stock fosses.... but 6000l is very very big.  I have a 5000l one and my installer told me that's the biggest that is "very commonly" used.  You might have to order one in.  Pop to Mr Bricolage (the builder supplier section down the right hand side of the car park and ask in there.  If anywhere can get you one, they will. Good luck installing that monster!!
4. I've read much conflicting advice and information, here and on various websites, about whether it is OK to use PVA on concrete floors to seal them prior to laying tiles.  So say "no, no, never" others say it's ok.  Are there any professional out there who can settle this for me?  Can I use PVA, or is it unwise? I have masses of PVA but no specilaist floor sealer (which I spotted at Bricolage at 45 Euro for 5 litres... is this the sort of price I should be paying?). Many thanks.
5.   Oh...  I suppose I should do the job properly!  especially as it is bare pine (cheapy cheapo stuff).  Now, what's primer called in French please.  I'll pop and get some later.
6. So, I'm all set to paint some skirting boards.. I've got my primer, I've got my paint, I've got new brushes ...... oh no!  ... the primer/undercoat is for metal only!  I could have sworn I had wood primer.  But if I do I can't find it. If I don't use primer will my house fall down?!  Can I just use wood undercoat and gloss?  Or would that be a mistake?
7. How do I ensure my organs are available after my death, should that occur in France. I understand there is an opt-out system here.... does that include me, as a foreigner? My husband is aware of my wishes, but just in case he's not around at the time....
8. Can I put non-bleach Biotex down the sink? And what about paint ... can I clean paintbrushes (emulsion) in the sink or will the paint mess up the system. If anybody knows the answers, I'd be grateful to hear them.   Thanks  [:)]
9.   I now realise  how lucky I am to have my rubbish collected three times a week. And apart from winter, green rubbish is collected once a week too.   I do think three times a week is a bit excessive, especially when it's not the height of the summer.
10. I'm going to use a thinned down emulsion, which is the norm (as least with the decorators I know). I'm not sure when I can apply it though.  Does anybody know if I need to wait the 2 months (which will kill me!  I want to see some colour.  Now!)
11. I've just finished some plastering (using French plaster).  The bag says it takes 2 months to dry.  Does that mean I can't paint it for 2 months?  Or can I paint it in a few weeks and the whole thing dries off together? I planned on painting it with white emuslion first, followed by the coloured top coats.   Thank you
12. Does anybody know who sells cherry filling ... the sort of stuff you might put in a black forest gateaux? Cheers    [:D]
13. .... Nigel and his lady from Illfracombe??
14. I am looking at doing the job myself, I am at present repairing a few tiles and thought while I am on the roof.....
15. That's  a good idea!  Not the selling it, but the harvesting.  I can dry it out and use it to line my hanging baskets.
16. Why don't I know any famous and talented musicians.   I'm sure I could be a wonderful friend if given the chance.    In fact, they don't have to be famous... just talented.  So, if anybody wants to come and sit in my garden this summer and play Spanish guitar... or some lovely classical piano..... maybe some jazz sax.  I'm completely open to all offers, so don't be shy.
17. Has anybody come across any in the chain stores?   (I'm getting my money's worth out of you lot this week!  Thanks!  [:D])
18.
I quite like moss on my roof............................[:)]
Me too ... but not quite as much as is there!  It just looks like a massive green sponge sitting on my roof holding loads of water in it.  It's about 5cm thick in places.
19. I bought the barn years and years ago.  Buying a barn was not part of my question (see above) Cheers
20. Not quite sure where to put this posting, so here it goes. Is there a product available to wash a roof with to discourage moss/lichen, etc? Cheers
21.
probably not.... especially if it one of those things that would affect the sale....
??? what sale?
22. Am I right in thinking that I can start interior work on a barn without planning permission.... providing the external is not changed and nobody is living there?
23. Best of luck to you Jon.  I hope you find some people who can help you make your event a success.  Or if not, that you find another project to work on in the summer.  If you're at a real loss for something to keep you occupied, you can come and help me in my veggie patch (I'll even supply you a vegan lunch!)  [:D]
