  1. Well there you are - Macron is the Bliar of France. Through and through nationalist/right wing/ egotist who easily plays the thick WB crowd.
  2. If a woman or man was truly raped, would they continue to sleep with him/her and extol their virtues with parties for the next week? These particular women, who were friends, had a choice. Any charges were dropped btw. For goodness sake listen to your history teachers and do research for bias in your mainstream UK press. Idun is correct in being somewhat sceptical. Diane Abbott is right that it is all about the atrocities caused by the US and revealed by wikileaks. Rape, disgusting as it is, in this instance and scenario, is a diversion from the true issues that have wider-reaching and national consequences. NB - WBs mate - yes unfortunately money does talk.
  3. https://www.smmt.co.uk/2017/01/17-year-high-british-car-manufacturing-global-demand-hits-record-levels/ For what its worth whilst debating extremists.
  4. Both union and League and to be honest union , like boxing, should be either drastically changed or banned. I see that insults are still allowed on this site.
  5. Now what made me think that your response would be so crass as that.
  6. ? I do know the rules and played it at a reasonable level.
  7. What a silly "sport". Too much dependence on drugs - legal or not.
  8. As per previous threads - blow the bu**ers up.
  9. With due respect: what skill is better in Rugby than in Association Football. Just fat slobs running at each other in rugby and relying on unpredictable bounce of a weird shaped ball.
  10. The issue is the tories not Labour - the tories, like turkeys, wont vote for christmas. Likewise the labour MPs who consider their post as a career and their "earner".
  11. BTW - isnt a referendum just legally advisory? Shame Maggie May thought otherwise and the repeatedly said untruth was perpetuated by the tories.
  12. As you rightly say your posts re this are somewhat dubious. I understand (C4 as reference) that the hard brexiteers in the tory party are making lots. Just sorry for the racists who are being used.
  13. Perhaps cooking can best be described as a craft. "Food and Nutrition" could well err on the side of (health) science.
  14. Science requires reproducible factors - very rarely available in the kitchen - Your OH should know this. Plus the +/- factors. Science is the process of discovery. Cooking is about making, not discovering, so it can't be a science. eg add nutmeg - how much - a pinch, a gram, a whole nut, crushed, whole? it could go on! More of an art as you say !!! NB spring cleaning can last a long time - perhaps some people do not bother.
  15. depends on how many houses old boy!!!! And how many use them.
  16. wow - why repeat. A standard recipe from the internet and varied by chucking in this and that and: https://services.completefrance.com/forums/completefrance-forums/cs/forums/3519756/ShowPost.aspx Plus other threads on here - search function on here works well. Experiment - OH seems to do well !!! NB We started spring cleaning today - 5 full cylinders of dust/dog hair. But people on this forum seem to think such day to day activity is below them in favour of definitive better information. Why not start a thread saying what you have done today without turning cooking into a science.
  17. Not if they injured someone.
  18. One rule for one and another for the riff-raff https://www.bbc.com/news/uk-47236607
  19. Nomoss said: " Our son aptly remarked "You can choose your friends, but you can't choose your relatives". " I think its true but illustrates the difference between interpretation and meaning. Poor lad.
  20. Britains next high speed rail system: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=-5I1dFaglh0
  21. Talking of France, specifically concerning care, we know of someone who not only got paid for looking after her parents and in-laws, but when she put her mother into a "home" sued her mother for loss of income!!!
  22. OH at it again. So much for the poor people in London/Paris she would like to point out that when she worked in London she tripled her salary for the same job she did out of the SE. She also says that "why should people who have pi ssed their money up the wall get away with not paying for their care whilst those who have been sensible get asset stripped?" Me now - its a bit of a dilemma. It does encourage spendthrift behaviour but nevertheless we both believe that good parenting is raising your child to earn their own wealth and not to be reliant on hand downs.
  23. My wife has been stalking my computer and says she would put her money on manufacturing in Roumania or another C / E European locale. (She's a recently retired European Head of Tax for a fortune 100 company and her last job was setting up a manufacturing facility in Roumania.) She also added there was precious little chance of a manufacturing facility being set up in France. While working for the same company they decided to set up a new European distribution hub and did a mathematical analysis of location to give shortest route to market. The optimum location was Eastern France - which was immediately ruled out. The centre was established in Germany instead.
  24. ALBF was arguing (using what if) that people may have to move to a city. I was merely pointing out the obvious that it it is a choice. Shame irrelevant obvious arguments now appearing
