1. Perhaps you should let people have their opinion and enter into reasonable debate instead of labeling them racist ect. Ho and by the way I think my dog is worth more than the population of the african sub continent. Mik, I haven't entered in this PC thingy and going on the text in red above that you spout off, it isn't worth anyone else doing so either. Reasonable debate and my dog is worth etc etc hardly go hand in hand and for that alone you ought to slope off to your kennel to keep your dog happy. You seem to be some sad case that just searches for trouble but in real life I suspect your a half a lager and home to bed by 8 type of character. No smileys no nothings just how I feel about idiots that post complete crap.
2.
Here in 22 our HC from the bottom of our bill are 22H30-6H30 "peuvent varier de quelques minutes" .......... How about this for a bill that arrived on Friday; 773,08 € not an estimated either, previous bill also using correct reading and that's in summer as well   HC and HP are the same times as Nick as are the charges for electric used.
3. Dick Smith Wasn't that Adam and the Ants ? ?? Prince charming  ??  Prince charming ?? Or perhaps on further thought it might well have been Dick Turpin or some other highwayman?
4. But no knighthoods for footballers, pop stars, and civil servants, please. They are handsomely rewarded in other ways. Strangely perhaps, I am not a lover of Lordships and Sirs but I am now wary that there is not a lot of point in arguing the toss, as just like the UK, it will always be there. So it was a case of joining "them" and by doing so, thought that Jimmy and several others who have not been recognised deserve an accolade but please, let's not reduce the awards down to being means tested ! My old neighbour in the UK won an MBE (or one of them, it made a great stir down our road anyway!) for her sterling charity work and for services to St Johns. She used to go about how much voluntary work, many caring sports people put in to good causes, some we all know about but she said we didn't hear the half of it. I  know that to be spot on.
5.
Pleased that you have got it sorted out and no, you do not need a ct if your car is younger then 4 years. You don't even have to show an insurence cert'.
What does that mean about, "not showing an Insurance cetificate" ?
6. Mitsubishi had never registered RHD's with DRIRE I have to say, that's a new one on me. Any Mitsibushi (4) we have tried to immatriculate DRIRE have known all about them. The point of RHD or LHD has never arisen with any car I have been involved with. Lots of other points have but not that, you may well be required to have to go the DRIRE (Les Mines) for them to have a look over still. With many Jap motors (and some others) they may well want to see if the original equipment is still being used, such as tyres (if these are not carrying the same as DRIRE have for them, you will be asked to change them to their original spec) and often to check that the Vin plate is in the correct area. I will add that some departments will always see things slightly diffrently !
7. That was ABBA and was it Iron Butterfly as well?
8. I think he was dropped after the group games, rather than injured. Rob He received a rather nasty injury in one the early matches (France I think) and missed at least 2 or I believe it was 3 through injury. When the final came around he was fit enough to play but Sir Sir Alf deemed that Geoff Hurst would play in the final and the rest, as they say, is history! Miki, do you think Jimmy would have been quite so good in the modern game? I only saw him a few times in the 60's, as the Villa were in lower divisions than Spurs at that time. I don't recall him being particularly quick or over skilful, but as having a predatory goalscorers touch in the box. Who would you liken him to today? No doubt in my mind at all that he would have been just as good and the same can go for other players of the 60's and onwards (and no doubt, some from before then even). The game today is much more about the referee blowing up for anything he sees as slightly aggressive, Jimmy played in an era that tough men were in every single side he played and Jim was "numero uno" to stop ! Some accomplished that feat better than others but all said they feared the fact, that if they backed off, he would pop one in the net!! Some of the goals he scored were simply one offs, I remember a particular one against Man City where after he scored, 5 men were still on the floor, having tried to stop the little man! He had skill alright, the skill of banging it in the back of the net on numerous occasions, turning on the proverbial sixpence whilst leaving defenders in his wake and finding the extra yard to leave markers way behind. He was the master of the "nutmeg" you only see that now on rare occasions! He really was lightening fast Rob, especially in his days from Chelsea to Spurs Who would I liken him to now? good question; I have thought about this for years and sorry, I have to say that Jimmy was a one off, I have never seen anyone to compare him to. Yes good goalscorers have come along since, of course. Lineker being just one but ask any pro and I think you will find their answer will be the same as mine .
9. Paul, I have found that all those marques are nearly all on the computer data base at the DRIRE and have never had to ask the manufacturer for a certificate due to this fact.  It is in my opinion, best to see if the car you want to immatriculate is on their "base" before going to the trouble of getting a certificate of conformity elsewhere.
10.
What you do is mark (where practical) old parts. We have used nail polish sometimes. My father was once charged for a new bumper where in reality the old one had been fixed (a spot of yellow car paint ...
Gay, OK, the car trade is legendary for its tricks and although I won't swear that I didn't pull a few strokes in my early days, I learnt pretty quick that customer satisfaction was the best way to get ahead. I have to side with TU a little bit here. We had a great garagiste in the Dordogne but here, it has taken me 5 years to find a pretty decent chap in the next village.  Strangely enough, I am off to the "newish" car auctions outside Rennes on Monday week (might be the following week) will seem a bit strange at first, but the buzz will come back I'm sure once I see something useful ! All I need then is a night at the dogs but unless I am mistaken, I have never seen it advertised here or is there such a thing?
11.
Actually (god, I hate it when people begin posts 'Actually') I was thinking of the way HWH keeps changing her avatars on Another Place. But if the shirt fits...
The number 8 shirt of course Dick. Helen, do show some interest, or of course you could start a thread yourself perhaps?
12. Trolls still exist in Iceland, you know. Too right SB and now they are on offer, buy one get one free  but never thought to get any as the taste is not to my liking.
13. Nothing wrong with dreaming is there? Absolutely nothing at all. I have met so many players through soccer, too many to mention, it would make your poor head spin. Great game, great memories, dreams...................from the era of Jimmy to Zola, too many to mention, have already come true.
14.
Miki, Apologies! I thought you supported the CHAMPIONS! Still, you can dream.
Strange posting ! On the strength of your thoughts fans must only support champions, that's under 11 schoolboy stuff. No, I will stick with the beloved blues I kinda got a long history with 'em and when the dream happens, get outa town double vite pal !!
15.
Miki, I have a suggestion that I know you,ll agree with. Sir ****ne Wenger ( it is ****nal you support isn,t it?).
Isn't he a b----y foreigner in a part of London that is in a manor I am not familiar with......... Support the Ar Ar s  A r se A r s e n oooooohhhhh I have come over all malade like................I think I shall dig out the video of the European Cup match last season to help me recover
16. You might not have heard me the first time
17. Now Now Dick, I surely couldn't be expected to keep Jimmy in his Spurs shirt for too long.  It was only until a pic in his beloved Chelsea shirt was found. I think changing ones avatar is good for the forum. It keeps people on their toes
18. Preferred the Greavsy avatar Miki.. terry You winding me up Terry? That's still the great man but in his original team shirt at Chelsea FC

20. It is my impression that the French generally do not wish to accept or acknowledge the input and sacrifice of their Anglo Saxon neighbours. I have to admit that I have all too often found that to be so true. I have had the story of how we run out on them, how we never came in their real hour of need and how the Americans and their resistance won the war. Recently it has got even better, how they would have won the war in the end anyway, without any help at all from anyone and that is how history has been taught in schools, so it must be true
21.  Well, I only asked!!!   Thanks Tink - that was useful, if disappointing news! I certainly didnt want to start a heated and political debate! SP, I don't see a heated debate, I think opinions were aired that's all. No one was blasted or slated. Threads go all over the place and it is rare that a genuine enquiry is put on to cause nastiness, so no, you didn't start anything at all really. Just a brief exchange of opinions and that is what forums are about as well as assisting others.
22. Baz As I stated earlier, we have a "one in 6 rate" of being asked for a  pin number by our machine in regards to UK cards. Out of those 6 barely anyone knows their pin number ! At a rough guess, we have probably taken around 6 UK cards where the process has worked by the person using their pin number and very excited they were to !! Apparently the French are now one generation behind and moves are afoot to play catch up. I really can't say about French cards in the UK and signing instead of the using of a pin number. I suppose it might be logical but having said that, the security of the French card then goes out the window doesn't it? What happened to you TU , did you say you had problems?
23. For sure, in the years head we shall see Dame Kelly and why not I say.
24. Tink, To understand why there is no unemployment benefit for the self employed you have to realise that one reason is  that there is not much evidence available as to whether or not the person is genuinely unemployed. The old "fiddle" for the self employed used to be (might still be in the UK, too long away to know now) OK, no dole, I'll go on the sick for a while, whilst the work has run out. The choice for choosing self employment, can be overwhelmingly in favour of doing so, a downside though, is no dole, one is well aware of that from day one. You can quit self employment and then social security will help, when you are felt in need of assistance. With employment for an employer you are either going to work or you are not. Don't forget if you leave your work voluntarily, then a period of time is set in which you cannot claim "Dole" You may ask then, "is that fair" well I think for obvious reasons, yes. Here in France it is very common for a person to do 6 months work then quit the job having gained entitlement to return to the dole for a similar period, is that fair on others? Don't forget we are all paying in to the chomage, well those that work here anyway. Things may not on the surface feel fair but, in the case of self employment and weighing up the pros and cons, I do feel it is justified to withold dole from us. "Us" being me, self employed for the best part of 30 years
