1.
So ideally you want a Forum where there are only topics that interest you, Is that not the reason everyone is here on this forum? one where you have no need to contribute, Now Norman, you know that is not true - I just don't contribute as much as you, but a lot more than some and one where the sad people who post frequently do other things instead. I'm sure that most of them do have another life - but as someone else has said, this is sometimes a bit like a pub and I've never been one for those, a lot of the posts seem to be 'chatter'  - however, my opinion may vary to yours Where would the answers come from? Answers? - There are less answers on here than you would think - there are an awful lot of opinions though, sometimes given without being asked for I  am one of the sad losers who post frequently. I could of course do other things such as getting skin cancer on the beach, guffawing loudly and obtrusively in bars as I get drunk on cheap rosé with my fat wife  to the amusement of the indigenous population, or spand my time shouting in DIY shops at those strange French  chappies who don't quite understand my Essex accent. Perhaps I would then be less 'sad' in your judgement ? Sorry Norman, I don't remember calling you a 'loser'. Did I?
Oh Dear! Another post, that'll put my average up :-)
 2. As you can see, I have been on this board for 7 years, but have hardly posted at all. For the majority of that time, I had a holiday home and was seeking information about how things are done and where to get items to restore our house, so most of my viewing was reading only. If I find the answer I have no need to post. Now I have lived here for a year and my posting has increased slightly, but to get to your main point. How can you call anyone on here a 'friend'? Not many people here use their real name, (is your name really 'idun'?) are vague about where they live and may have many views opposed to yours, but you may never know because they will always be anonymous. The very sad alternative for me is (and I must apologise if this includes you) is people who post 5 or 6 times a day on average (over the lifetime of their membership - moderators excluded) - do they have nothing else to do away from the forum? Also I would like this forum even better if I could do away with seeing certain messages (e.g. Earning a Living, French Education) as I have no interest in them.
 3.

That's cheating Clair. Outside help is not allowed :-)
Ho OK How 'bout that, then? OK? Bye [Www]
Well that sort of works , but not in the way intended. I looked at the thread 'Death of a King Maker' which came up in your results and it only contain 'hi' when its part of another word, not the word itself. And 'ok' is not there at all The same applies to both words in the 'Estate Agents Commission' thread - only show as part of other words, not words in their own right :-( Clearly outside help IS required :-)
 4.

Maybe there is some other way to search for terms, but I searched for "hi+ok", "hi ok", "hi", and "ok" by putting them in the search box and clicking on "SEARCH". Mostly I got "no matching items were found", but one search did turn up 2 results from 2005 which were nothing to do with Dave & Olive.
Try this (About 2,060 results (0.19 seconds))  [:-))] OK bye [;-)]
That's cheating Clair. Outside help is not allowed :-)

 6.
Or perhaps one of THESE at 39,000€.
Save yourself some cash and buy it from the UK only £26,672 :-)
 7. We bought our first microwave oven in 1981 and have used them ever since What for? Cooking vegetables (if nutrients are lost, please explain why they are retained in boiling :-) ), defrosting bread, heating up defrosted meals (no, not packets), its the quickest way I know to make a jacket potato (waits for the purists to come along and decry the taste..........) And now I've got a new one with a grill - which saves me using the one on the oven which is 90cm across! How on earth does it make you gain weight? If you like steam in your kitchen and can waits hours for a baked potato then don't bother using it..............
 8. Suggest you give these guys an email - they seem to know everything there is to know about lime. I did a weekend course with them to learn about pointing / plastering. http://www.lime.org.uk/
 9. This Link http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=1UhjXnQCa2o has a comment which says go to the WD website and download an update which allows you to disable the software.
 10. In particular, when property has to be sold to pay care bills for the person under the care of the court?
 11.
http://www.completefrance.com/cs/forums/2439130/ShowPost.aspx I can't remember how I got the picture on the post!
Its in your link :-)
 12. Have you tried the website? http://www.centre-eden.com/jahia/Jahia/
 13. Yes, I've had the same problem with 40mm - the 40mm fittings here just rattle around on a UK 40mm pipe :-) (Just as well I live here now.........)
 14.
Thanks Alex but I was in L.M. yesterday and like every other store I've found here, they don't do 110mm. That's why I'm asking for UK size as it's a normal size over there.
Well, the link was pointing to a 110mm pipe (but now seems not to) here are the details from the web site Descriptif : Matière : PVC, diamètre : 110 mm, réaction au feu : M1 Diamètre (en mm) : 110.0 Matière : PVC Réaction au feu (Euroclasse) : M1 Type de produit : Tube Garantie : 2 ans Théière - is 110mm not 110mm then? :-)

 16.
You need to look into the income for property thing as the income tax due on it may have to be deducted by your tennants? That sound mad, well there is something like that for non residents who are renting out property.Do a search.
Non-resident Landlords scheme  http://search2.hmrc.gov.uk/kb5/hmrc/forms/view.page?record=Ed5BaOnynis&formId=738

 22. I believe it's already got cement added - (there is another thread about this somewhere) Edit: here http://www.completefrance.com/cs/forums/2/2571048/ShowPost.aspx#2571048 set up? sorry, no speak builder :-) There are also machines to chuck it at the wall if you're not doing the careful stuff....
 23. We don't do a lot at the same time, mainly as the 'current' walls are internal. So I use chaux from the brico sheds (about 13€ a 35kg bag) and sable jaune from a local quarry (last time I bought it was about 20€ for 450kg). I use a concrete mixer, 3 parts sand to 1 chaux.
 24. Thanks both for your very rapid answers :-)
 25. Anybody able to tell me what this is please?
