A fair wind and a prosperous voyage [:)]

A brilliant collection of videos on YouTube, including 2 Brahms symphonies conducted by Carlos Kleiber, an incandescent Eroica with Roger Norrington, and the B minor Mass with Harnoncourt. It helps if you have computer speakers as I mentioned before...http://www.youtube.com/user/HDvideocollections

In fact I watched it on iPlayerhttp://www.bbc.co.uk/iplayer/episode/b013csn0/BBC_Proms_2011_Simon_Bolivar_Symphony_Orchestra/but I know you can't watch BBC on your computer

I am always a bit behind.I just caught up with the Walton Violin concerto with Midori....I knewteh viola Concerto before , but not this. Will listen later to Tamsin Little. She had a great reputation with some of the violin students at Wells that I used to accompany sometimes

I still preferhttp://www.youtube.com/watch?v=AkQuvn45l-QEven with a yank as conductor[;-)]

Have you got it open twice?Or is it opening another programme and playing at the same time itself? I have that sometimes when I use adsl.tvI open adsl and it also opens vlc player so I have the sound twice at slightly different times.iPlayer on the radio works very well for me though, and the Victoria programme is a real delight

Sent you a pm sweet

I bought some cheap computer speakers with a separate bass unit (about 45 Euros) which improve the sound on my computer enormously. Not quite as good as quality HiFi, but a vast improvement on normal computer sound, and a great help for listening to the radio, watching TV or playing CDs on the computer. As I am 'fauché' I use the computer for all these functions.

Here: it is available in France, unlike TVhttp://www.bbc.co.uk/iplayer/radio/bbc_radio_three/20110723

They must be doing delayed broadcasts, Norman.
Just had to stop everything and listen to the Brahms' violin and cello.
It always reminds me of the time over 30 years ago when I was in hospital and OH brought me in the recording with Rostropovich and Perlman. I played it over and over again and I knew I just had to live in order to hear some more music.
[/quote]You can listen for up to 7 days on iPlayer -
Ravel is more Spanish: after all he was born in the Basque country...
