    German 3rd quater figures, published today, state they managed to avoid a technical recession by 0.1% of growth.  It's not beyond the realms of possibilty that those figures were 'cooked' to avoid the inevitable.

    At this rate they could be touting around for their own subsidies in the not to distant future.

    My wife's best friend, (French), told her about this service about 5 years ago having used it herself.  There is a facility local for us and my wife called up for an appointment and was duly seen within the month.

    I suggest you call your MT or local CPAM to check what may be available where you live.

    As your present box is a Humax I think you will find THIS is the connector required to connect the coaxial cable to the box.
    It is a 'screw on to cable' male type F plug and you will find the instructions on how it is fitted are within the #5 image on the left of the Amazon page. As long as the female connection on the box is not damaged they should connect.

    From the above I would take it that Chessie is already in possession of a sat-box and is seeking a replacement.

    Perhaps if she can post the make and model number, if they do actually have one,  it might be possible to find an identical replacement which would, hopefully, assist her in the task of installing and setting up the replacement as the cables and remote control will be the same.

    If you aren't already aware the UK will be withdrawing its leadership abilities, stablizing influences and financial support from the EU on the 31st October. These are all qualities that Britain has diligently bestowed around the world for centuries.

    The EU will regret its untimely stance with the UK and ultimately it will fall apart within itself via economic strangulation or civil unrest following Britains departure.

    Hence the suggestion for the EU to look East to see what could possibly manifest itself similar to that of Britains withdrawl from Hong Kong 20 years ago.

    To be clear, the end of the months events will have very little impact, if any, on my overall situation so I have no axes to grind.

    Whilst I have been resident in several different countries throughout my life I have never had the inclination to ship foodstuff etc., which I happen to be partial to, from one jurisdiction to another.

    However, although I am able to obtain all my requirements and needs here in France I have infact made one notable exception to the above policy.

    In view of the pending future European status I became rather concerned as to my ability to still be able to purchase 'HP Sauce' from either Intermarche or LeClerc. With that in mind I ordered and received last month, from the UK, a 4litre catering pack of the stuff. Sorted. 

    B****t?? Bring it on.

    Likewise pomme.  However the 'Reply' function with JavaScript disabled works but to use the 'Quote' function JavaScript needs to be enabled. For lurking I disable JavaScript.
