1. Thank you, Norman.  Unfortunately at the moment, iplayer is not an unqualified success.  I was so looking forward to the de Victoria music but the sound came over twice, the second time fractionally after the first.  Do you remember years ago when you rang abroad (overseas) and you hear your own voice coming back as an echo? Well, this was exactly like that! Anyone got any thoughts on why there is this irritating phenomenon?
2. Thank you, Norman.  Very useful.
3. Don't have iplayer![:(] What d'you have to do to get it?
4. They must be doing delayed broadcasts, Norman. Just had to stop everything and listen to the Brahms' violin and cello. It always reminds me of the time over 30 years ago when I was in hospital and OH brought me in the recording with Rostropovich and Perlman.  I played it over and over again and I knew I just had to live in order to hear some more music.
5. Spanish Night last night and I never thought I'd hear Debussy....
6. Norman, the ovation is, even as I write, overwhelming after Schiff played the Bartok No 3. I have been to some Schiff concerts and I love the way he plays with so few "manerisms" and with such a sure and delicate touch. Must go and listen some more, excuse me!
7. No, I don't mean to me! The highlight of the summer season .......can you get BBC Radio 3 where you are? Are you still in the convalescent place or back in your barrel?
8. Jonz, very fab indeed.  Do you do snails?  I mean in wood and fairly big for the garden?
9.
If you then add extra activity, your bed be the optimal location for maximum weight loss. Good news.
What, you do your commando exercises in bed, 5-e?  No wonder you're so svelte.....[:P]
10. No, not latex because I have heard that latex can be very hot in the summer.  I believe they are interior sprung: anyway, towards the top of their range. I know of some very good mattresses but they are in the UK and not in France so I can't really advise you. So, you've finished all the decoration?  You must have worked hard.........bravo!
11. Last two beds I bought were from Ikea but I did buy their more expensive mattresses.  I think they are comfy as I always sleep on guest beds to test them out. What did you think, Jen? IMHO, it's the mattress that you musn't stint on.
12. Thanks for the info, John. I don't mind not having an apology, as long as they repay money they owe me.
13. Hi, Chancer, having just come across your post, I am making a note of the name............in case I do change my car after all. But, can you explain what you mean by "tiers cover"?
14. Yes, Mac, it tastes fine in scones and omelettes.  You're not supposed to eat it out of the bag: did you know that?[:P]
15. That's not fair comment.  I buy ready-grated cheese because I always manage to grate my fingers and I'm always in a hurry such as when I'm making cheese scones. I don't buy bags of ice cubes but I do buy ice-cube bags when I have a crowd coming and I know the ice trays just won't make enough. However, I don't buy ready-made pastry and I don't buy gravy granules; so, I guess that balances things out.
16. Steve, you know I don't mean Normandy.  Being Monsieur le Comte, you can command anything you like in Normandy. But, that place you normally spend your working life in..............I bet camel milk is all that is available to go on your scones, that is, if you bake the scones yourself.  As for baking, don't tell me, you don't need an oven, just 2 flat stones..............[:P]
17. Oh, Steve, now you've made me feel guilty because I know you can't get the scones and cream where you are.  But, is the coffee good?[:D]
18. Just made scones and whipped up the cream you recommended, Ame.  Couldn't find yours which says fleurette and I bought the one that says épaisse.  Thought "thick" sounds good and, indeed, it is very nice.  It tastes very faintly sourish but it wasn't an unpleasant sour, certainly not sharp sour. Freshly made scones plus butter plus blueberry jam (from Ikea) plus whipped cream plus mug of tea plus sunshine and warmth. Feels like dying and going to heaven............except I know I haven't been quite good enough in my life to deserve heaven.
19. Yes, what't this about Scooby?  I thought Scooby was a cartoon dog?  Or am I showing my age ........[:-))]
20.
please don't tell my GP I have been asking about cream he thinks I'm on a cholestoral lowering diet!
But don't they say that a bit of what you fancy does you good?  Mind you, it depends on what is meant by "a bit"........... I mean my idea of "a bit" would have to be quite a large bit![:P]
21. Could you not freeze what you cannot eat?
22. Val, is that to be found in the chilled section?
23. Lucky you!  I think they have decided my order isn't worth bothering about...........
24.
Starless, no sign of my food yet. When I looked a couple of days ago, they hadn't debited my credit card (Tesco).  I rang the CC company and said, could I stop the payment? Answer, as I might have expected, NO, but if they don't deliver, then we'll take it up on your behalf. Will let everyone know how it goes!
Arr.........................gh!  Sorry, quoting myself. Update this evening, looked at CC statement.  No money taken out and NO FOOD, so I guess this is a NO-NO NO BRAINER. It's OK, not sure that I want the food by now, having waited so long.  Will go and stock up elsewhere. Thought I'd let people know as the info might be of help. OK, cheers!
