essancee
Can anyone tell me if the six month time limit on presenting cheques for encashment is the same in France. as in the U.K.?I issued a french bank account cheque to a French Company 5 months ago. They haven't cashed it as they have been unable ( so far) to supply the goods I ordered. Will my cheque become invalid in a month's time.?Thanks in anticipation.Carole
Teamedup
I believe that cheques are valid for about a year.
Andyphilpott
Just for info - although a Bank will (should!) return a cheque that is over 6 months old as out of date I understand that that does not remove the obligation of the drawer to pay the Payee. 6 months is a convention and not a limitation period.
