Tax Fonciere

We have now lived in France since January 2005, having received a Tax Fonciere the year before, when we lived in the Channel islands and our french house was then a holiday home.

Each year  since we have lived in France we have received a Tax d'habitation and no Tax Fonciere,  even though we made an enquiry last year at the local Tresor  to see if we were supposed to  have  a bill for Tax Fonciere.

The lady looked on the computer and said no it wasn't neceessary. We thought as the tax office have us down with our French address and know we are resident here,  they would automatically  know to send us a bill for the Tax Fonciere with the Tax d'habitation.

Anyone have any ideas?

The Tresorie is only responsible for the collection of monies. To resolve your problem you have to go or contact the Hotel des Impots as they issue both Tax d'habitation and Fronciere and they will be able to explain why you have not received your Tax Fronciere.
