Proposed TGV route - Deux-Sevres

Recommended Posts

If you are house hunting in department 79 over the next few weeks, check at the local Mairie to see if any properties you are interested in will be close to the new TGV line.

The proposed route was published in the Charente Libre this week and I think that there may be loads of properties affected on the market soon, so beware!

Of course it will also be a great benefit to commuters and holiday makers coming to the west coast.

Sorry the map I have shows mostly Charente.

Don't think it's been finalised yet - this route (from Tours to Bordeaux) was put forward by the planners in Poitiers on Monday and it will mean that when it's completed the Bordeaux to Paris journey will take only two hours.

The proposed route (just to the west of the RN10) published in the Charente Libre states that 16 communes in the region will be affected:

from north to south-

Plibou

Limalonges

Sauze-Vaussais

Montjean

Londigny

St Martin du Clocher

Villiers le Roux

La Chevrerie

Villefagnon

Raix

Coucome

Charme

Ligne

Juille

Luxe

Cellettes

Villognon

Vervant

Has anyone the Deux-Sevres map?

Try

for the latest maps for the project. The route seems to have been firmed up within the 1KM trajet originally published. They seem to have made a good job threading the line between villages!

No doubt the will be complaints that the line has not been built to serve Charente, only Bordeaux and the South. Apparently the motorway was pushed westwards for political purposes!
