Payment given for animal sitting

Recommended Posts

I know this is a long shot, but we are going back to the uk at christmas from friday 23rd dec to mon 2nd Jan and would really like to leave our 2 dogs at home or with someone trustworthy. There is a kennels nearby but it looks very lonely and bare!! We will leave them there as a last resort. We live near Blanzac and have Digger, our lovely chocolate labrador and Barney, our sweet jack russell, both very friendly. They go everywhere together and cannot be parted. They even sleep in the same bed!! We are willing to pay a small fee (poor renovators), and obviously give you their food. They only require one walk a day. If you have a warm utility room they would be happy to stay in it. Or maybe just lie infront of your nice warm fire!!! They don't mind!! Here's hoping!!

Put an ad on the board in your local supermarket.   We had the same problem and didn't like the look of any of the local kennels.  So we advertised for someone who liked dogs who could board in their own home.   We had six replies, and chose a lady who lives in the next village who has a dog of her own and a huge garden.   Our dog loves it there and her price is very reasonable (€7 per day including food).

Why not look further a field, or ask for recommendations from your local Vet or even at your nearest dog club.

We are also going away at Christmas and want to leave our German Shepherd somewhere where he'll get the exercise he needs.  When we took him to his weekly Canine Club we asked there and were recommended a kennel which is linked to one of the organisers. Fingers crossed it's ok, and we're going to view it next week.

But putting out an advert is a great idea!

Good luck

Lynda
