Val_2 Posted September 17, 2004 Share Posted September 17, 2004 Just wondered if anyone else on the forum has received a strange phone call in the past day or so. Late last night the phone rang just before bedtime. A man said he was calling from Wigan and wanted us to find someone here in France to swap their home for a flat he owned in the centre of Cambridge. This threw me because no one does a swap like that without knowing France and then who would want to go to another country and live in a flat when they have a nice house and garden here - makes no absolute sense. Anyway when I asked him exactly what he was talking about,he started going on about paying commission if I found a local to go and live in this flat and he had the place here. I said you must be joking,who would want to relocate back and with that,he got quite shirty and put the phone down. Sounds like another sort of scam to me.
