[email protected]
Does anybody know of any good furniture markets in the Creuse (near to Bourganeuf if possible) ? Last time we were out we did visit some of these so called markets but it was a lot worse than our boot fairs. We would love to buy some nice old furniture for our farm house rather than new furniture.
Alexis
I can't help you with markets but have you tried the depot vente's? I have bought some nice stuff there but it isn't always cheap.Depends if you want something no-body else desires.
[email protected]
Yes we have tried a couple and I do know of one just on the outskirts of Bourganeuf. But as you say you need to have a good look around. Which ones do you go to, or know of ?
cabman
We sometimes have a look around the Troc de L'ile in Limoges. (1-3, rue Auguste Comte - ZI Nord) www.troc.comThey often have some interesting items in there...... also a lot of tat.I purchased something else from the antique shop in the main street in Bourganeuf this time last year. The young owner couldn't hide his anxiety to make a sale, and IMO I got a good deal. Is it still there?BTW shouldn't this thread be in the Centre France section?
Dick Smith
I honestly thought that having 'a good look round' was the fun of the thing. Not for me, I hate it, but then I don't want any cheap furniture at the moment.
[email protected]
Yes we have been to a couple of the troc shops in Limoges and also Chateauroux on the way down. I do like a good look round Troc De L'ile. As you say it's a bit of a mixed bag but that is part of the fun. We did pop into the shop in Bourganeuf but at that time nothing much in there. Anyway if you do any interesting markets or shops please let me know.
