XLeblanc
I stumbled across a website yesterday of a farm in the Limousin offering wigwam and yurt holidays in the Limousin. It seems a yurt is a round tent of asian origin. From a family holiday point of view it looks like a lot of fun. If it wasn't so close I think I would try a holiday there.Regards
Will
I'm sure they are very nice, but it does give the impression of being Eurocamps for the sort of people who go to Center Parcs rather than Pontins.[;-)]
Gemonimo
Yurts are Mongol tents and rather cute. The daughter of a friend has one in the Pyrenees (65) and lives in it all year round. She has a wood burning stove to heat it in the winter and its really cosy. The sheep wool lining makes it smell a bit but after a while I guess you get used to it.Not for me, though - no hot and cold running water and windows facing the sea[;-)]
Helen
We stayed for a night in one in the Aubrac whilst walking part of the GR 65. Quite comfortable compared with some of the bunk beds in the other gite d'etaps. pictures here( it is a commercial site but nothing to do with me so hope its OK) http://langegardien.monsite.wanadoo.fr/page1.html
