130 one way Morlaix?!

Yes, that's the quote SNCF gave me yesterday .. Morlaix - Toulouse (via paris - the other route wasn't even worth bothering with) ...

Anyone got a better suggestion? Is there a bus service from Morlaix that would connect to the Toulouse service that I'm pretty sure passes through Nantes?

None of the airlines are able to help ... SNCF has a monopoly on this region of France it seems!!!

Any suggestions for one person at the beginning of August!

Thanks

Kira

Booking on-line sometimes saves a few euros.

Having looked on the website
www.voyages-sncf.com
it typically seems to be charging 117 euros.

If you book two "Prems" their discount tickets morlaix-paris, paris-toulouse it works out at 40 + 60 = 100 euros. Unlike the full price tickets these are not refundable. If you take the slow train Paris - Tolouse (an extra 90 minutes) you can save another 15 euros- Every little helps?

Just as a comparison typical fares London-Aberdeen, roughly same distance as the crow flies, works out at about 100, but if you are VERY lucky you can get an advance tickets for 28.

Kira, there is no bus service here in Morlaix except the local ones connecting the villages and doing the school runs. The only way out is by car or train or air from Brest/Guipavas to Paris and the rest of the world. Usually locals go elsewhere by TGV to Montparnasse for Paris and onwards. There is a two coach train which runs from Morlaix to Roscoff but no where near the ferry terminal and which is then about a 20min walk to the station. The only other option is to enquire about a coach connection which originates from Brest and stops at Morlaix on it's way through.
