Eurotunnel Frequent Traveller

Has anybody used tickets for this without nominated account holder being in vehicle? Not really sure how they check who is in vehicle with self check-in. I would be interested to hear any responses. I have no assoc with Eurotunnel by the way - just wondering if you can use rather than lose!!

The self check in for pre-registered travellers has a machine which requires you to insert the credit card used to make the booking.  They identify you this way.

I was also asked for the card used to make the booking when I turned up at a manned booth. Pointed out that I'd paid by cheque - quick shrug and away we went. Having said that, I was the registered user so it didn't matter. I don't know if they've closed that loophole - they could just as easily check your passport.

I too have wondered about this. What would happen if I turned up and used my husband's credit card at the self check-in, without him being in the car?

I have often thought that the inability to hold a "family" frequent traveller season ticket is a real bind. Also, if we go over with two cars (not totally unheard of) we can't use his season ticket for my car. [:@]

Although I have only ever used my card so far, it does give an alternative option to punch in just the booking reference number.  If I get chance one day with no queue, it might be worth trying.
