I want to visit France for sight seeing but unfortunately i do not have any friend in France who can send me an "official sponsor letter (attestation daccueil).

This document is necessary to apply for a french tourist visa from my country (Pakistan).

Is anybody can help me to send me this letter? I will pay fees or any other related expenses.

Would this not be somewhat risky for a stranger to sponsor another stranger - I presume it will, in a genuine sponsor capacity, require attesting knowlegde of the person and their character.

I, too, think this to be a non-starter. We have recently obtained one of these from the local Mairie for our Russian son-in-law who is resident in New Zealand. All the questions asked on the form required in-depth knowledge of the person and of our circumstances. There were questions about our accommodation and we were informed that, on occasion, an official person visits the accommodation to confirm this. Maybe a travel agent may be able to advise how this works for you.

I respect your opinion on my post!

Though I have a different mindset.

I think, all of our existing friends were once strangers. Then we meet them. We share our stories with them. We started knowing each other and trusting each other. Later some day we declare these one time strangers our best friends.

Life is really like that!!

By the way, i am male, 37, business graduate, married, doing job in a Japanese trading company, love to see new places and making new friends. you can count on me as your friend in a far away land! Who knows one day we may become best friends.

Have you contacted the French Embassy in Pakistan? They will tell you exactly what they require. Not all visitors to France from outside the Schengen area have friends or relatives who can apply for the attestation. It should be that if you can provide evidence of return plane tickets, accommodation bookings, bank statements showing sufficient resources to maintain yourself, a job to return to in Pakistan and satisfactory health insurance, they may look kindly upon you. I believe that you will have to visit the Embassy/Consulate personally for this.
Forgive me Ransed, you may be genuine, but I do not feel comfortable sponsoring anyone these days as so many have simply disappeared once they arrive here.
Not only that, sometimes the forms ask questions like:  how long have you known this person, in what capacity do you know him/her, etc etc.

So you can't really fill in the forms, as a stranger, unless you are prepared to write down falsehoods!

It's not personal necessarily, Ransed, but you do need to find another way, of which I hope there is one for you very soon.[:)]

Yes, that is true of friends but let's take your points:

I think, all of our existing friends were once strangers. Then we meet them.

I do not think anyone on this forum has met you

We share our stories with them.

The only story you have shared is that you want to come to France - you know nothing about the stories of those on this forum

We started knowing each other and trusting each other

We do not know you so to turn your statement we cannot trust you

Later some day we declare these one time strangers our best friends

But only some strangers - others will will not bond with

Life is really like that!!

So it may be.

By the way, I am 27, an Astronaut, own an estate in the Scottish Highlands and a vast Chateau in France where I live with my harem - is this true?
P2, I think your response is totally unnecessary. Ransed accepted the position and stated that he'd approach the authorities himself. Negative comments are unhelpful!
My comments were merely challenging what Ranseed had posted

I liked your effort which you put with a lot of logic to prove me a stranger.

I wrote these lines to explain only a real life process of "how we make friends". Sometimes loop gets complete and other times it breaks in the middle.

I am feeling very lucky that my words at least make a stirr in your thoughts. At the end thank you very much for your intro. I have no intentions to prove your statments right or wrong. I take the people on face value.

By the way, i had applied for the french visa without this document and now hopeful to getting it by mid of April.

Can you suggest me some good places in Paris (off course! other than your harem--only a joke, dont take it serious please)?
