The shape is right for a cicadas, but the colour is different. Perhapse it hasn't got a tan yet. I also found the old skin case when I was trying to locate the little thing again... We do get both here and the mantis's do vary a great deal, but I will have a look at me books again...

Chris, my camera is a Sony DSC-F717. Not a pocket version, or an SLR (couldn't afford one of those, but would like!!!!), but when you use the zoom the carera stays the same size and doesn't knock the person in front over [:-))]. I've had it for a couple of years and still learning what it will do....
Dog has a Mac so probably doesn't have mouse buttons...
It would be control+click on the image and then 'copy image location'. Then apple+c to copy and apple+v to paste.
Dick I am surprised at you? Surely you know that it will have Mac-buttons to go with the Mac-fryz and the Mac-appel? [6]

John.

Hi Pads

How did you insert your pictures in the end? It looks different to the way everybody else does it if I click on 'quote' above your hummingbird message.  I can actually see the image in the message box rather than just seeing the URL.  Click 'quote' in your message then click 'quote' in this message and look in the text box - you'll see what I mean.

I thought that might be what you had done.  I think it is okay to do the odd one like that, but it does use up a lot more space on the Forum server.  It may not be an issue if we're on a mega massive galactic server but if everyone starts pasting actual images into posts it could gobble up an awful lot of space pretty quickly.  James can put me right if I've got this wrong.  In which case ignore me, I'm fretting over nothing.

It's a lot less space-greedy if you use the [i m g] http://stick the image web address here [/img] method.  It's a bit more laborious but preferable.  NB take the spaces out of [i m g].  They are only here because, as Dick can confirm, if you take the spaces out then the message will get lost.  Like this:

I can see you're trying very hard here.  10 out of 10 for

perseverance.  Try this.  Click on the 'quote' box above this message.

Copy the bit in red (you'll see the red bit when you hit 'quote').  Paste it into a message.

Fingers crossed!

I think I know why I seem to be talking double-dutch to you.  You browse using Internet Explorer, don't you?  I use Mozilla Firefox.

 1. In Explorer right clickover the image whose URL you want to identify.
 2. Click 'Properties' at the bottom of the menu list.
 3. You should see a box that includes Adress (URL).
 4. Highlight all the address from the beginning which starts http:// to the end which is usually .jpg or .gif   .
 5. Right click and copy.
 6. Paste as previously instructed between the img and /img in SQUARE [ and ] brackets.

Fingers and toes crossed this time.
