Oldie
I have several 'lines' like ruts or furrows in the garden culminating in holes in the ground. Each rut is about 1½" wide and about the same in depth (might be slightly less) and they vary in length to about 6 or 7 feet. I've posted a picture on Photobucket as below. Any info appreciated.I do know I have snakes in the garden. One is about 4ft in length but I haven't got close enough to check its eyes etc (I hate ALL creepy crawlies but believe in the old adage "You leave me alone and I'll leave you alone!")Sorry - having problems with Photobucket. chris pp
Not snakes but vole runs, like it's been made by a cycle tyre, usually weave about a bit.Chris
Oldie
Thanks chris pp - they are exactly as you describe. Not something to worry about then?
chris pp
Far from being something to worry about, they make a nice meal for a lot of other species including owls, in fact so many different creatures eat voles that I think it's their sole purpose for existing. Bit of a bummer if you're a vole.[:D]Chris
Oldie
Well chris_pp - being a 'live and let live' sort of person, I think I'll do just that and give the birds a treat. Many thanks.
