Anyone Alps-specialist?

Hello, I am visiting the Alps in a week with my company and my boss would want me to do a presentation about the Alps in French, because we have a few french customers. I don't speak French really well, and I would be happy if someone could make a little presentation in French.

Yours, Ismo.

Sorry cannot help with the presentation, but what sort of an **sehole of a boss have you got who want you to give a presentation about something you don't know about in a language you cannot speak to people who do both know the subject and the language.

Looks like a set up to me.

Not the only one being set up I suspect?

A first time poster using the words "would want" sounds to me to have better understanding of French grammar than English.

Apologies if this is not so, its just lots of  French people when speaking English translate "je voudrais" to "I would want" which is the exact translation rather than the common usage "would like".

Before the moderators pounce this is the French language section.Smile [:)]

Why do these smilies never work for me?

JR, you need to select a smiley from the drop down list above the mail (insert smiley).  The ones at the bottom are for the subject line.

Confusing I know, but you'll get the hang of it in the end.

Pounce, me?  As if  [:)]

Subject line meaning when you create a new topic I assume?

I am not very intuitive with computers, (I still can't work out how to cut & paste a PM I recieved to refer to the moderators) but those at the bottom have confused the hell out of me for ages, now I just have to work out which ones refer to which code above.

thanks again

You're welcome JR.

Subject line is indeed the new topic.  To give you a clue as to which smiley is which, you can let your mouse hover over the smileys at the bottom, and you will see the smiley name.  The same names are used in the list at the top.

If you need to report a PM you can do this in exactly the same way as reporting a post on the forum.  Click on the small blue "report" link at the bottom right hand side of the PM.
