Are any more acceptable, formal or familiar than the others, should one be used when writing etc?

I remember asking a French friend many years ago how to say "from now on", she said "à partir de maintenant" yet I have never heard it spoken or read it since, dorénevant and desormais I see and hear in equal measure.

All are grammatically correct, but I suppose that "à partir de maintenant" is probably used verbally.

Désormais and dorénavant are possibly a bit more formal.
