SaligoBay
My Aussie mate cooked a late-night supper for the boys last week. I wondered where the delicious smell was coming from - smells as good as bacon and eggs, I thought. But I knew that I had no bacon in, so put it down to my fevered imagination. But what he'd done was open a pack of normal sliced jambon cuit and fried it with the eggs. Brilliant in its simplicity. Not absolutely the real McCoy, but beggars can't always be choosers.Sorry if you know this already.SB, sometimes just too easily impressed
Alexis
You can buy 'bacon' everywhere up here now. Poitrine fume or natural - bit thin but I like it. Before this modern stuff arrived, I used the same potrine but it was thickly cut. Just like a nice bit of streaky.....
