europhile
Hi Everyone, I'm knew to this forum and still finding my way around, love reading and looked at some of the topics here but couldn't see Fred Vargas mentioned before, she is a French crime writer and some of her books have been translated into english, good read if you're a fan of the genre. Frecossais
Fred? Don't know her, but will look on amazon. I'm finding I enjoy these sorts of books set in different countries.Anybody watching the series Spiral on BBC4 Saturday evenings? It'a police series set in Paris. Really pacy, couldn't do without the subtitles, but enthralling. Corruption galore!
europhile
Yes I am watching Spiral too, did you watch The Killing set in Denmark which was on the same time and channel running before Spiral?Very interesting to see how the legal system works in different ways in other countries. Frecossais
I never saw The Killing, but Spiral was compared to it in my TV mag. That's why I now go upstairs on my own to watch it, while OH watches something else!
