Hes not really my squiggle as he lives right down the bottom of the garden and eats at our joining garden neighbours bird tables , but has never come anywhere near the house , probally as we have 2 dogs and 2 cats , but when Im working down the bottom I see him some times as he likes to drink at our pond

It's got a name,,,,, Squiggle and the little ones are Squigglets when they arrive...

Celé wants to go and play with them and tries to get out of the door any time they are mentioned. If she did they would break the sound barrier as they vanished. So we try to keep a low profile or she would be through the patio doors, open or shut!

Gwince, yukkkkk. We have enough decent wine down here that we don't need to go anywhere near that 'pony and trap'. I know that I had some in the Twinks gig, but I would have prefered not to. Never been a fan of the Irish pasturised beer! (stand by to duck or grouse John!)

Oh Pads, what a thing to say!!!! [:P]

WJT, sorry if I hurt your feelings.[:(] Have you got any Guinness? [:-))] No no no, I didn't mean that, doesn't matter about the squiggles honest. Have you got one of these? Not a great shot, he was attacking the base of the bird table![8-)]

Sorry John, no duck or grouse, just a woodpecker! A slap later though![kiss]

We have the greater, lesser & green in the garden & for the past year they have been taking it in turns to make a perfect hole in one of our poplars. It was started by the lesser spotted. It's only about 10/12 ft up & not far from the window & great to watch. [:D]

I must agree with Jonzjob in regards to wine but for JayJay, I would bring the supplies in [:D].

We do have woodpeckers in France but only hear them, very rarely see them but not sure if we have the greater spotted woodpecker. But in any case have never caught them in the act as you have done in your photo JayJay, great shot.

Just to post a picture, unfortunately, this is the only one of wildlife I have on the computer. Terrible picture because he is high up from the outside, but could see him sitting there from the inside just inches away where our staircase is situated. They have nested in the roof of the staircase that is an old pigeonnier tower. By the way this was taken during the day so no flash was used.

That's most kind of you WJT [kiss] Some wine's good too![;-)]

Cheers, 2 days ago the lesser woodpecker was on the bird table too, he was after the nuts. It's a shame my camera hadn't been close by then. I didn't realise he was there & as I turned around he flew into the willow & kept his beady eye on me. He then gave up the ghost & went around the side of the house & back to attacking the hole. I wish my camera was better as that particular tree is only 25/30 foot away, but they come out as a speck![:(] I have a video clip of him, but it's on it's side [:$] & I don't know how to right it, load it & put a link!

Shame your little friend is a bit fuzzy WJT, but you can make him out.

This is a very cheeky blackbird that lives in my garden, he is always being naughty, He has been in the kitchen window a few times and stolen food off the counter, eats my tadpoles and moves gravel from my neighbours drive onto mine for some strange reason. He sit on the kitchen window ledge and the bedroom one and looks in the window at me, in fact my hubby and I think hes a flying camera disgiused as a blackbird sent by our nosey neighbours to spy on us [:D]
