I quote the man:"I came to persuade myself that I was in love with [Vivienne] simplybecause I wanted to burn my boats and commit myself to staying inEngland and dying. However, I suspect, to be fair, that mental illness was not exactly dealt with in a sympathetic way back then. Although I doubt if life with TSE was a picnic!
