minnie
I'm planning on visiting there during the next couple of weeks and going by train to Bordeaux St Jean (I know all the strike dates). Does anyone know the best way to get from the station to cite du vin. I'd prefer to hear from someone who has made the journey that way as I'm aware of the theory. Thanks
Mac
Tram-definitely. It's easy there's a tram directly from the station to the cite du vin. If you Google the Bordeaux trams on line you can get timetables , prices and a map. Not expensive either.

Mac
Just checked because I couldn't remember the site- it's TMB-also they have an office at the station where you can get advice, buy tickets, pick up maps ect. Otherwise you just buy tickets from the machines at are at every stop. Don't forget to 'composter' your ticket when you get on. You can get day tickets as well I think. The cite du vin is interesting-there's a lot to take in plus the wine tasting which is right at the top with great views.
